A partygoer became stuck in a garbage bin after trying to retrieve her phone during a wild night out.

A club-goer captured the moment he spotted the young woman’s legs hanging out the front of the street bin in Surfers Paradise, Queensland, on Friday night.

The hilarious footage shows the woman flailing her legs in the air.

Her friend can’t help but laugh as she stands to the side and offers moral support during the search for the phone.

‘No wait, did you find it or no?,’ she said.

The person filming the hilarious expedition walked around the bin with the sight leaving him completely stumped.

‘What the hell is going on here?,’ he asked.

He eventually helped the woman out of the bin with it remaining unclear whether or not the phone was successfully retrieved by the woman.

Footage of the unfortunate incident was uploaded to social media.

Hundreds of commenters joked the accident could only happen on the Gold Coast, an area known as the party hub of the Sunshine State.

‘We’ve been in some states, but I don’t think we’ve been in a “stuck in a bin state”,’ one commenter said.

‘That’s actually not unusual for Surfers Paradise,’ another person commented.

‘Stay classy Gold Coast,’ another wrote.

A fourth person joked the woman was not stuck in the bin looking for her phone.

‘She was searching for her dignity,’ they wrote.

Another social media user compared the woman to an Ibis, a bird that is commonly found poking its beak into rubbish bins in search of food.

‘She must be a bin chicken,’ they wrote.
