A mother has accidentally put her baby son up for sale by including his picture in an online advertisement for a Christmas tree.

The Sydney mum advertised a 3.5 foot Burlap Christmas Tree for $50 on the Bondi Local Loop Facebook page on Tuesday.

She included three pictures of the three and bizarrely, one picture of her baby boy.

‘Bought two years ago from Adair’s. In superb condition! Pick up Matraville or Coogee. Ideal for the apartment or small space,’ she captioned the post.

But Facebook group members where quick to point out that one photo in the advertisement didn’t belong.

‘Think you might have added a picture of your kid for sale by mistake,’ one person wrote.

Another person agreed, saying: ‘Hey lovely, you’ve accidentally uploaded your bub in this ad.’

Meanwhile, others took the opportunity to make some jokes.

‘If I buy the baby, reckon she will throw in the tree for free?’ one man wrote.

The mother has since removed the advertisement after realising her mistake.
