ITV is allegedly keen to keep hold of its big names following fears they will be poached for shows by Amazon Prime Video, according to The Sun.

Big bucks! Amanda Holden has reportedly signed a three-year deal for £3million to continue her role as a judge on ITV’s Britain’s Got Talent

Signing on the dotted line means that Amanda will return to her role on the Britain’s Got Talent judging panel later this year for the programme’s 14th series.

Amanda is set to join her co-joins Simon Cowell, Alesha Dixon and David Walliams when filming for the talent show kicks off in the next few weeks.

Just last year, the radio presenter signed a £3million two-year deal with Heart Breakfast, cementing her title as the highest paid female host.

Elsewhere, Ant and Dec are set to sign a £40 million, three-year contract with ITV, which could increase to £50 million if they chose to extend it.

The Sun reported that the channel were keen to keep their ‘most prized assets’ by offering them the deal, after Amazon Prime Video were allegedly interested in taking on the duo for a new show.

A source speaking to the publication claimed: ‘With their current golden handcuffs deal up for renewal, other broadcasters have been sniffing around — most notably Amazon who still have a lot of cash to splash.

‘There was talk of them getting their own series on the streaming giant. ITV are desperate to prevent this and have come in with a new, big, big money, three-year deal.’

The source added: ‘Their current contract is £30million and is now going up to at least £40million — with scope to extend it in length and take the pay up to as high as £50million.’

Amanda Holden, 48, shows off her sizzling figure in a hot pink bikini and jokes ‘breathe in’ as she jets away for tropical family holiday

She is the popular Britain’s Got Talent presenter who is known for her enviable figure.

And 48-year-old Amanda Holden showcased her stunning looks as she took to her Instagram on Sunday to treat her 1.3 million followers to a snap of her lounging on a beach in a pink bikini.

The Heart Radio presenter is enjoying a well-earned tropical break after a hectic schedule and a picturesque Christmas with her family, daughters Lexy, 13, and Hollie, seven, along with husband Chris Hughes.

Wow: Amanda Holden showcased her stunning looks as she took to her Instagram on Sunday to treat her 1.3 million followers to a snap of her lounging on a beach in a pink bikini

The star posted her latest sizzling snap on Sunday with the caption: ‘#Handmaid on #holiday #bikini @melissaodabash #breathein.’

The pink two piece is made by designer Melissa Odabash and has been worn previously by the likes of Vogue Williams.

The witty TV personality also quipped about the bonnet she coupled her two piece with, hash tagging ‘Handmaid,’ a reference to The Handmaid’s Tale – an Emmy award-winning show based on the Margaret Atwood novel in which the style of hats feature.

The laid back retreat comes after Amanda showed off her chic sense of style in a sweet family photo posted on Christmas day.

The presenter snapped her fibula in two places when she slipped on a children’s obstacle course in the middle of the sea while holidaying in Cyprus.

Amanda revealed she was ‘showing off’ on a family trip when the accident occurred.

On her return to work, she said: ‘It was like an inflatable assault course, like Wipe Out, my eldest daughter [Alexa, 13] was on a school trip so Hollie was with me and Chris and she was desperate to get on this thing.’

Admitting she had to step in as the more athletic parent on the trip, she added: ‘If you’ve seen my husband’s hair, it’s fabulous, so he didn’t want to get his hair ruined, so he was standing on the side.

‘So I said I won’t read my book, I’ll try and be a good mother. So I ended up going on the assault course and went round and round on my hands and knees like the geriatric I am.’

On Royal Caribbean’s Explorer of the Seas for a West End and Broadway-themed musical cruise

Now it was hardly South Pacific but four nights cruising the English Channel on a ‘Musical Theatre Festival At Sea’ voyage certainly provided some enchanted evenings.

Back for a reprise, the second Stages cruise – organised by Floating Festivals – saw around 2,500 passengers board Royal Caribbean’s Explorer of the Seas for a star-studded experience dedicated to the West End and Broadway.

Even if I’d dreamed a dream of my own fantasy cast, I’d have struggled to secure Les Mis’s Alfie Boe and Funny Girl’s Sheridan Smith as leading man and lady, with 2014 Britain’s Got Talent winners Collabro providing a very special chorus.

Stages cruises – organised by Floating Festivals – are dedicated to honouring West End and Broadway shows. If you unashamedly love musical theatre, then it hits all the right notes, says Jonathan Weinberg

These headliners meant the only destination passengers focused on was the Palace Theatre each evening, caring not a jot about bad weather affecting our sailing from Southampton and our day in Dublin switched to Cobh, near Cork, as a result.

Each performed three top-of-the-bill shows, receiving standing ovations for their hour packed full of energy, jokes, audience participation and memorable musical numbers from the likes of Lloyd Webber, Mackintosh, Sondheim, Schwartz and many more.

Collabro even performed The Lion King’s Circle of Life on the final night with a passenger choir who’d spent the cruise rehearsing for their own big moment.

Another chance for passengers to release their inner stage star came courtesy of musical theatre dress-up night.

You could rub shoulders with the Beast (minus Beauty) in full get-up, a habit of Sound of Music – or could it be Sister Act – nuns, and more Wizard of Oz and Wicked witches than you could shake a broomstick at.

As for me, I had a starring turn as G.I. Chris from Miss Saigon.

Having listened to feedback from 2018 when some missed out on seats, the organisers split audience numbers up based around pre-allocated meal times meaning the theatre was comfortably packed but not full.

The food perhaps wasn’t as glorious as that famous Oliver number playing in the lifts and corridors at breakfast suggested it would be. I’ve eaten better on cruises and the huge coffee shop queues and plentiful, but patchy in quality, buffet were a little disappointing.

But let’s face the music and dance. Nobody was here to eat, not when our hunger was satisfied with extra-large helpings of show tunes. You didn’t even need to ask for more.

If you don’t live, sleep, eat and drink musicals at home, then Stages isn’t for you. But if like me, you unashamedly love MT, then it hits all the right notes.

All your needs are taken care off from morning until the early hours, from watching a musical movie on the big deck-based screen while in a hot tub to one of many daily musicals-based quizzes.

There were also sing-alongs and performances by immensely talented passengers in the piano bars, the best being at the popular Sing Easy, which was brought to the ship from the West End especially for Stages.

The UK cast of Avenue Q even made Explorer one of their tour dates, treating us to a pared-down version of the comical but adult puppet musical. Although clearly, it was not to everyone’s taste.

Stages though was very much about the ensemble.

Other talented West End performers on board put on late-night solo or collaborative cabaret shows, including Wicked’s famous Elphaba alumni Rachel Tucker and Alice Fearn. Comedian Joe Pasquale also brought along his own brand of madcap humour.

There were moans when Q&As with Alfie and Collabro were scheduled at the same time but a masterclass from theatre royalty Jenna Russell, insight from Adrian Mole: The Musical creators Jake Brunger and Pippa Cleary, and talks by leading choreographers, producers and agents, more than made up for that.

Stages wowed me too because of its sense of community – you were surrounded by like-minded people and could strike up theatre conversations anywhere, even if travelling solo. A thriving private Facebook group of more than 1,500 members allowed bonding before and after too.

Long at-sea queues to rebook for 2020, onboard Royal Caribbean’s superb Anthem of the Seas, simply reaffirmed to this critic that Stages is a smash hit that will run and run.

TRAVEL FACTS

To book for Stages 2020 (September 27  to October 1), with headliners including the original Miss Saigon Lea Salonga, theatrical legends John Barrowman and Bonnie Langford, plus John (Jean Valjean) Owen Jones, Phantom’s Ramin Karimloo and Dreamgirls’ Marisha Wallace, see www.floatingfestivals.co.uk. Cabins start at £699 per person.

Ant McPartlin was seen walking his dogs on Monday, after ITV was accused of ‘double standards’ for supporting him during his drink-drive scandal yet ‘failing’ to back Caroline Flack in the wake of her assault charge.

Former Love Island host Caroline, 40, stepped down from the ITV2 show on Tuesday, as she declared that she didn’t want to ‘detract from the upcoming series’ with her own personal drama, after she was arrested for ‘assault by beating’ last Thursday.

Britain’s Got Talent presenter Ant, 44, wrapped up in the chilly weather as he took dogs Hurley, Milo and Bumble for a stroll in the park.

A source told the website: ‘Ant hit a car carrying a child while drunk and he gets ITV’s full support. Caroline has a row with her boyfriend and she’s axed. It’s a crazy double standard.’

Behind-the-scenes some people apparently believe ITV bosses have failed their duty of care to Caroline, after she said she would be standing down after being charged with assaulting her boyfriend Lewis Burton, 27.

According to sources, Caroline has apparently hit an all time low after leaving her role as Love Island host for the foreseeable future.

Another insider said: ‘She hasn’t even had a phone call from ITV. They haven’t waited for the outcome here. What if the charges are dropped?’

Despite the claims of abandonment, ITV did issue a statement of support, which read: ‘ITV has a long standing relationship with Caroline and we understand and accept her decision.
