Piers Morgan’s daughter, 8, ‘channels Susanna Reid’ in photos

Piers Morgan jokes daughter Elise, 8, is ‘channelling her inner Susanna Reid’ as she tells off the GMB presenter on family holiday to St Tropez

Piers Morgan joked his daughter Elise, eight, was channelling her inner Susanna Reid in a series of amusing snaps shared via Instagram on Monday.

In the collage the TV presenter, 55, looked on amused as his youngest child, who he shares with wife Celia Waldon, put on an animated display behind him.

The first photo saw both Elise and Piers smile brightly, before she wagged her finger at him angrily, and then pulled a funny face.

Things then took a dramatic turn in the fourth snap as Elise pretended to throttle her dad as he put on a shocked expression for the camera.

Referring to his Good Morning Britain co-presenter, Piers wrote in the caption: ‘Elise modelling her inner Susanna.’

Susanna seemed to enjoy the snaps very much, as she claimed Elise’s interpretation of her was ‘perfection.’

Earlier on during his trip, Piers ended up on crutches after tearing a tendon on the second day of his six-week family holiday.

The presenter shared a snap of himself using the crutches on Monday while stood alongside his sons Spencer, 26, Stanley, 22, and Albert, 19.

Alongside the photo, he wrote: ‘Peg-leg. (nothing like tearing a tendon on Day 2 of a 6-week holiday) ⁦#StTropez’.

The broadcaster’s recent injury came at the worst possible time as he booked the summer off his hosting duties on Good Morning Britain to enjoy the South of France.

However, the injury didn’t seem to have dampened Piers’ spirits as he enjoyed a star studded lunch with Britain’s Got Talent host Amanda Holden last month.

Amanda took to Instagram and shared a snap of the pair during their reunion as she posed with a group of young fans while Piers took the photo for her.

Alongside the post, she wrote: ‘thrilled to be known & asked for a photo from these lovely children from the #netherlands and the #photographer @piersmorgan (no clue who he is @bgt)’.

Davina McCall, 52, flaunts her taut abs in a sizzling white bikini as she enjoys holiday in France

Davina McCall, 52, flaunts her taut abs in a sizzling white bikini while she enjoys a family holiday in France

She’s been a household name since 1999 when she became the inaugural presenter of hit reality TV series Big Brother UK.

Two decades later and Davina McCall, 52, looked gorgeous as ever as she posed up a storm in a tiny white bikini during a family holiday to France on Saturday.

The barely-there swimsuit showcased Davina’s chiselled abs and svelte waist, while the halterneck bikini top showed off the presenter’s perky cleavage to perfection.

The woven two-piece complemented Davina’s glowing tan in the picture cheekily captioned: ‘Wouldn’t be a holiday without the bikini shot .’

Flawless Davina went makeup-free in the snap and styled her chestnut tresses into a loose chignon while a gold crucifix, drop pendant and beads adorned her neck.

The mother of two is currently soaking up the sun in France with her three children, Holly, 18, Tilly, 16 and Chester, 13, from her former marriage to presenter Matthew Robertson.

Davina spent lockdown self-isolating with her children in their West Sussex home, and seemed to be revelling in the freedom eased restrictions have afforded.

The Making the Cut podcast presenter had been making the best of the extra time at home by varying her fitness regime and avoiding processed foods, sharing her progress in a series of Instagram snaps.

Although Davina handed over the Big Brother reins to Brian Dowling in 2011, she spent June reminiscing over BB’s early shows in E4’s Big Brother Best Ever Shows series.

Davina joined forces with former Bit On The Side host Rylan Clark-Neal to look back at some of the show’s most iconic episodes, complete with former winner cameos.

During the show’s June run, Davina looked back at her favourite moments and opened up about her ideal housemates for a future series.

Davina told the The Sun in June: ‘Obviously Piers Morgan. Gordon Ramsay. Dominic Cummings would be fascinating in the house.

‘Ben Fogle. I think being in CBB would give him the opportunity to show that he’s a very nice person and that posh people are lovely too. It’s an opportunity to break down prejudice.’

The presenter went on to add that the late Pete Burns goes down in history as one of her favourite housemates.

The Dead or Alive singer, who tragically died of a cardiac arrest in 2016 aged 57, was a personal friend of Davina’s and the pair used to go clubbing together in the 1990s.

Big Brother went onto air on Channel 5 from 2011 to 2018, and was hosted by Brian Dowling and eventually Emma Willis.

‘It’s been an emotional journey’: Piers Morgan shares sweet throwback snaps of son Spencer as he marks his 27th birthday

He’s currently on crutches after suffering a tumble on the second day of his St Tropez holiday.

But Piers Morgan took a break from his respite to send his son Spencer a playful timeline birthday message through Instagram on Sunday.

The GMB presenter, 55, wrote: ‘Happy 27th Birthday @spencermorgan – it’s been an emotional journey for your shades & hair…. just a shame you forgot not to smile in the top pic.’

The birthday collage continued with a throwback beach picture of pre-teen Spencer scowling at the camera while his two brothers Albert and Stanley grinned widely.

The Good Morning Britain host’s heartfelt message attracted a string of comments from his celebrity cohorts including footballer Vinnie Jones and presenter Lizzie Cundy.

Former sport star Vinnie, 55, wrote a cheery ‘Happy birthday Spencer!’, while model Lizzie, 52, commented ‘Happiest of birthdays to your boy!’

Spencer has followed in his father’s journalistic footsteps and is the first of Piers’ three sons from his first marriage to nurse Marion Shalloe.

Piers also has an eight-year-old daughter Elise Morgan who he shares with his journalist wife Celia Walden.

The broadcaster’s recent injury has come at the worst possible time as he booked the summer off his hosting duties on Good Morning Britain to enjoy the South of France.

However, being hobbles doesn’t seem to have dampened Piers’ spirits as he enjoyed a star studded lunch with Britain’s Got Talent host Amanda Holden on Friday.

Labour MP Nadia Whittom, 24, launches attack on free speech

‘Baby of the House’ Labour MP Nadia Whittome, 24, has launched an attack on free speech by saying the ‘very act of debate is a rollback of equality’ in an article about trans rights.

The MP for Nottingham East wrote a column for The Independent which was published yesterday, titled: ‘The only way to avoid hysteria about trans rights is to ground the debate in real life experiences’.

Ms Whittome shared the article on Twitter, posting in a series of tweets that the ‘very act of debate in these cases is an effective rollback of assumed equality’.

But the argument sparked backlash from Good Morning Britain presenter Piers Morgan, alongside MEPs Daniel Hannan and Martin Daubney.

Ms Whittome said: ‘Much of the media coverage, pundit commentary and social media discussions centred on trans rights are fixated on manufacturing short-term outrage, rarely allowing us intelligent, humane understanding of the real, lived experiences of trans people in our society.

‘But any public discourse on protecting and advancing the rights of trans people must be firmly grounded in these real-life experiences in order to resist hysteria, abstraction and misinformation.

‘We cannot allow transgender rights to be reduced to statistics, an academic subject or a series of hypothetical scenarios. Everything said on the subject of trans identities has a direct impact on real people and their families.’

Writing in the column, she added: ‘We must not fetishise “debate” as though debate is itself an innocuous, neutral act.

‘If someone wanted to initiate a debate about whether women are innately less intelligent than men or whether disabled people should be paid the same level of wages as non-disabled people, we would rightly be appalled at such a suggestion.’

In response to her tweets, Piers wrote: ‘Good grief. How can a democratically elected MP have such a dreadful view of debating? Even by woke standards this is absurd.’

The Labour MP replied: ‘In the past there were ‘debates’ on allowing openly gay and bisexual people in the military. I clearly mention debate in this context: creating a debate about people’s fundamental rights or equal status is a hostile act.

‘Don’t spin it to stoke a right wing feeding frenzy.’

Former MEP Mr Daubney also commented: ‘If you can’t debate ideas opposed to your own then frankly you do not deserve to be an elected representative. Win the battle of ideas, don’t dodge it.’

Mr Hannan added: ‘The woke Left is becoming uncomfortable with reason, empiricism, free enquiry, the scientific method – the whole Enlightenment package.

‘Those scare quotes around “debate” tell you everything you need to know.’

Ms Whittome, who became the UK’s youngest MP after gaining her seat in December last year, has previously sparked backlash from Twitter users after comparing Parliament to Hogwarts.

She told ITV’s Peston in January: ‘It feels like joining Hogwarts but when the death eaters have taken over. I’ve got my acceptance letter but I’ve rocked up and Severus Snape is the headteacher, the death eaters are all teaching.’

One social media user described the comments as ‘just dreadful’ while another posted: ‘Cringe.’

The debate follows author JK Rowling joining Margaret Atwood, Salman Rushdie, Noam Chomsky and Martin Amis to sign an open letter defending free speech earlier this month.

The group of artists, writers and academics decried the weakening of public debate and warned the free exchange of information and ideas was in jeopardy amid a rise in what they call ‘illiberalism.’
