Kimberley Walsh admits Girls Aloud are ‘feeling the pressure’ to do a 20-year tour

Kimberley Walsh admits Girls Aloud are ‘feeling outside pressure’ to reform for the band’s upcoming 20th anniversary.

Speaking on The One Show, the singer, 38, explained: ‘It’s 20 years in 2022 so we’re feeling a bit of outside pressure now.

‘People keep asking if we’re making any plans and we actually haven’t made any yet, but we’re definitely feeling a bit of pressure from the outside so you never know.’

Kimberley has remained close to fellow bandmates Cheryl and Nicola Roberts – and her comments suggested she’s chatted to Nadine Coyle and Sarah Harding about the situation too.

She recently revealed that she put a stop to her seven-year feud with Nadine, 35, as lockdown put things into perspective.

During an interview with OK! magazine, Kimberley was asked if she’s still in touch with her bandmates, replying: ‘I speak to Cheryl and Nicola [Roberts] all the time anyway, but I have been in touch with Nadine and Sarah, too.’

She continued: ‘Lockdown has been a time for reflection. Nadine and I were chatting the other day and we’re going to get the kids together as they haven’t met yet.’

She also revealed that her life nearly took a very different turn, having been in the running for the role of Maria Sutherland – later Maria Connor – in long-running ITV soap Coronation Street.

‘I actually got down to the last two or three for Maria in Coronation Street. I think it was the year before I got into Girls Aloud, which could have been very different!’ she mused.

Actress Samia Longchambon was cast in the role, first appearing in the soap in 2000. Girls Aloud was then formed in 2002 on TV talent show Pop Stars: The Rivals.

They went on to amass a fortune of £30 million by 2010, sold over 4.3 million singles and 4 million albums in the UK.

They split in 2009 but reformed in 2012 for a 10 year tour and album.

Kimberley has since gone on to appear in musical threatre and will be in Sleepless: A Musical Romance, the first live indoor theatre show to start up since lockdown, which is based on the film Sleepless In Seattle.

‘We start rehearsals in a week’s time and there will definitely be certain things we need to rework slightly,’ she said of returning to work as the pandemic rumbles on. ‘But with the theatre we’re in, it’s almost like a bit of a gift from God, also the show itself really works for social distancing.

‘Jay [McGuinness] and I are the leads and we don’t actually meet each other until the final scene in the show, same as the movie, so everything kind of lends itself to this crazy time we’re living in.

‘We’re able to not change that much in the show actually which is amazing!’

Of how similar the theatre adaptation is, she added: ‘It’s really close which I think is nice, because when you have got an iconic movie like that, you sort of want it to be the same, you don’t want to miss any bits that you remember, it’s so nostalgic.

She said of the show: 'It’s a big, happy, warm musical romance, and who doesn’t need a bit of escapism right now!'

‘So it does run really closely, the script is brilliant and it was written by the same people who wrote the original screenplay.

‘And then we’ve got these amazing new songs that have been written by British composers, and they’re like Big Band numbers, and they really work for the time, and they add a bit of musical magic to it really.

Scott Thomas reveals he treated lockdown like ‘bootcamp’ as he discusses his body transformation

Love Island star Scott Thomas has revealed he treated ‘lockdown like bootcamp’ as he opened up about his body transformation.

In recent months, the reality star, 31, has showcased a ripped physique, which he owes to overhauling his lifestyle and ditching the alcohol.

In a new interview Scott, who has shed one stone in weight thanks to his health campaign, details how he’s turned his life around with the help of his pal Eden.

After making a promise to remain sober throughout 2020, Scott turned his attention to his diet and sought the help of his nutritionist friend, where he learned to count calories and macros, resulting in him shedding an amazing one stone since April.

The duo have since launched Food4Thoughts, a new business venture which helps clients to achieve their weight loss goals.

Speaking to The Sun, Scott explained that being in lockdown helped him ditched his ‘party boy’ persona and concentrate on changing his lifestyle.

He said: ‘Without sounding insensitive, lockdown was the best thing that happened to me. I was in a period where I was saying no to going out and staying away from certain friends.

‘It was definitely an element of leaving something behind – the so-called ‘Scotty special’ who I used to be – but I much prefer the Scott who I am now.’

Discussing about his body transformation, Scott added: ‘Being in shape and looking your best affects your mental health and how you feel on a day to day basis… I know the importance of exercise and how it makes you feel good and gives you confidence. I don’t want to lose that.’

And Scott, brother of former soap stars Ryan and Adam Thomas, seems to be proud of his new physique as he’s shared several hunky, shirtless snaps of his buff body in recent months.

He’s also showcased hit fitness routine as he’s shared videos of himself working up a sweat in the gym.

Back in June, Scott unveiled the physical results of six months of being tee-total and clean eating as he declared he was ‘n the best shape of my life!’

Scott shared a before and after shirtless photo to show off his newly-sculpted physique as a result of ditching the booze.

Alongside several video clips of himself working out, Scott wrote: ‘Special moment for me today! Celebrating 6 months no alcohol and finally reaching my goal of the best shape of my life.

‘Before I go on I just want to say massive thank you to my PT for getting me to this point. This may come as a surprise to a lot of you as it’s not something I’ve often talked about.

‘For years I’ve always battled with my relationship to alcohol. I made a living out of being a party boy and although I didn’t drink often when I did I would always take it too far and become a different person.

‘I’ve battled with this for years and although I’ve not had a bad life at all and always done ‘well’ so to speak there was always an underlying feeling of not reaching my potential.

‘I saw a therapist for years over this called Gareth who was a massive help in giving me perspective and I still check in with him once a month even now.’

The television personality said he made a decision at the end of last year to be completely sober for 2020 because his drunk behaviour started to ‘jeopardise’ his business.

‘To see something that I’ve worked hard for jeopardised because of my behaviour was a massive eye opener for me,’ Scott wrote.

‘This was a personal weakness I knew I had to get on top of to reach the level of success that I wanted so badly.

‘I booked a holiday to Abu Dhabi on my own and had a serious word with myself over there.

‘Picked up a pebble and stood in the sea and swore to myself I’d do 12 months. It was a scary thought but I was listening to Denzel Washington on repeat “to achieve something you’ve never had, you have to do something you’ve never done!”.’

Six months on, Scott says he is in a ‘much better place’ both in his personal life and business.

Rebecca Judd: The heartbreaking day my mother left my father

Rebecca Judd’s heartbreaking family secret: Footy WAG reveals her earliest memory is of comforting her father on the day her mother ‘left’ him when she was just four years old

Parents getting divorced is one of the hardest things a child can go through, and the transition often leaves deep psychological scars.

And Rebecca Judd has shared her own experience of coming from a broken home, revealing that her earliest memory is of the day her mother ‘left’ her father when she was just four years old.

During a discussion about break-ups on The 3pm Pick-Up on Tuesday, the 37-year-old footy WAG said she vividly remembered ‘dad was crying’.

Sad: Rebecca Judd has shared her experience of coming from a broken home, revealing that her earliest memory is of the day her mother ‘left’ her father when she was just four years old

Her co-host Katie ‘Monty’ Dimond asked: ‘Do you remember your parents telling you [they were separating]?’

Rebecca: ‘Yup, I remember the day mum left. I was with dad, and dad was crying. That’s my earliest memory. Isn’t that crazy?’

While she didn’t go into further detail, the former Nine News weather presenter has previously said her parents’ divorce had a profound impact on her life.

Rebecca told Sunday Life magazine in May 2019: ‘Growing up, I hated that I didn’t have my mum and dad together.

‘Everyone else seemed to have mum and dad living together… I would see dad at weekends.’

Following her parents’ split, Rebecca and her sister, sister Kate Twigley, went to live with her mother, Kerry Brown, and her new partner.

She would visit her father, Hugh Twigley, and stepmother during the school holidays because they lived regionally.

‘You know when you’re a kid and you do not want to be different? That was what made me different,’ she added.

These days, Rebecca is happily married to retired AFL player Chris Judd, with whom she shares four children, Oscar, nine, Billie, six and twins Tom and Darcy, three.

The Judd family lives in a $7.3million mansion in Brighton, an upmarket suburb in Melbourne’s south-east.

Jesse Tyler Ferguson riffs on a classic musical number while his newborn son rests on his chest

Modern Family actor Jesse Tyler Ferguson riffs on a song from Jesus Christ Superstar while his newborn son Beckett rests on his chest

He is musically gifted, and is happy to share his talents while fathering his newborn child.

Modern Family star Jesse Tyler Ferguson uploaded a sweet clip to his Instagram on Tuesday, showing him lying on the floor while his newborn son Beckett was resting on his chest.

The little one was on his stomach, swaddled in a multicolored squiggly striped blanket with one adorable newborn foot peeking out.

Musical dad: Jesse Tyler Ferguson uploaded a sweet clip to his Instagram Tuesday, showing him lying on the floor while his newborn son Beckett was resting on his chest

As the baby slept, Ferguson, 44, riffed on a classic song from Jesus Christ Superstar, the 1970 rock opera with music by Andrew Lloyd Webber and lyrics by Tim Rice.

Borrowing from the song ‘What’s the Buzz,’ Jesse Tyler instead sang ‘What’s the fuss’ to his little one.

The improvised verses he sang were: ‘What’s the fuss, tell me what’s happening, why do you wanna fuss when your life has been so easy?

‘…When your life is not that bad?’ the actor continued, while bouncing the baby gently on his stomach.

‘You get booby milk when you want it, and cute outfits from your dad!’ Ferguson concluded, nailing the rhyme with aplomb.

He captioned the snippet, ‘A cut verse from Jesus Christ Superstar,’ making sure to tag John Legend and Sara Bareilles.

John and Sara, of course, played Jesus and Mary Magdalene, respectively, in NBC’s 2018 Jesus Christ Superstar Live in Concert television presentation.

‘This is something I haven’t even mentioned to anyone, if we could just keep it between the three of us and you all, but I’m actually expecting a baby in July with my husband,’ he gushed.

The TV star added: ‘I’m very excited but it feels like I’m 44 now, let’s get this show going. Tik tok,’ he said pointing to his watch.

The news came after host Corden asked Ferguson if turning 40 was a big deal and he said it was, because it’s ‘finally when you become an adult.’
