TALK OF THE TOWN: Kelly Hoppen says she ‘loves the smell of Dettol’ and admits she has no idea how to use a washing machine

What is lockdown doing to Kelly Hoppen? The interior designer has revealed that she has become hooked on the smell of her cleaning supplies – and has no idea how to use a washing machine.

She says: ‘I love the smell of Dettol. I have become obsessed with washing floors. I should do an l’eau de Dettol now rather than my Scent One.’

Doing her laundry, however, is another matter – Kelly and husband John Gardiner had to go online before using their washing machine.

If you thought you were climbing the walls during lockdown, take a look at Sophie Ellis-Bextor’s son Ray.

Murder On The Dancefloor singer Sophie has been hosting online ‘kitchen discos’ with her family to cheer up fans, but while her followers have enjoyed eight-year-old Ray’s dance moves, it seems he’s had enough.

Last week he donned a Spider-Man costume and a pantomime horse’s head disguise as he appeared to make a break for it in this picture, shared online by his mum.

Luckily, Friday’s disco was the last one Sophie streamed online, so you can come down now, Ray.
