Teenage girl is arrested after making threats on social media to blow up her Maryland high school and her teacher’s home

  • The Frederick County Sheriff’s Office received notification of threats of violence, made on social media that involved Walkersville High School and a teacher’s house, on Saturday around 6pm
  • The name of the suspect was not released because they are a juvenile
  • Charges are pending, via a juvenile referral, officials said

A female high school student has been arrested after making violent online threats to blow up her Maryland high school and her teacher’s home.

On Saturday around 6pm, the Frederick County Sheriff’s Office received notification of the threats that were made on social media regarding Walkersville High School and the teacher’s house.

‘FSCO deputies immediately started an investigation and found the threats to be not credible,’ the release said. 

‘Throughout the course of the evening, deputies conducted multiple interviews and successfully identified a suspect, a female juvenile who is a student at the school.’ 

The female suspect’s name was not released because she is a juvenile, but charges are pending, via a juvenile referral, the authorities said. 

Walkersville High School, is a four-year public high school in Walkersville, Frederick County, in Maryland. The Frederick County Public Schools may enact their own disciplinary actions against the female suspect, authorities said

According to the police, the Frederick County Public Schools may enact their own disciplinary actions for the female suspect.

On Sunday, school administrators sent out a ‘Find Out First,’ email to the Walkersville High School community notifying them of the incident.

The Frederick County Public Schools also sent out a reminder video about social media threats and the ramifications. 

Many went to social media to express their concern and outrage about the recent news.  

 ‘What is going on with the kids today. There have been one to many of these situations. I hope, she’s held accountable and will gets some help,’ wrote one person.

Another person said: ‘They need to be charged to the fullest extent! They need to realize how serious these situations are! It is never going to stop with a slap on the wrist.
