DISHOOM 

Iranian Bombay cafe Dishoom are going beyond the cap set by the Chancellor and are honouring this discount on all food and soft drinks, with no £10 cap.

From today, guests can enjoy a fulsome 50 per cent off at all Dishooms on any Monday, Tuesday, or Wednesday in August. 

Characters can pick a breakfast of Akuri or Kejriwal and as many cups of (bottomless) Chai as one can drink for a little over £5. 

Or midday diners can order a delicious lunch of House Black Daal, Roomali Roti and a couple of Lamb Chops, which will set guests back less than £10.

The chain shook up Indian dining when it first launched in Covent Garden in 2010. The restaurant now has venues across London, Manchester and Edinburgh and is inspired by the cafes opened in India in the 1960s by Zoroastrian immigrants from Iran.

CARLUCCIOS

While the restaurant was in trouble earlier this year, the Carluccio’s chain was bought out in a rescue deal which will save 30 of its branches.

Lentil burgers are offered for those who don’t eat meat, while those wanting to eat healthily can pick from a range of salads.

The casual dining group is hoping it will act as an incentive for a new wave of customers to try their vibrant take on fresh, Sri Lankan street food.

Operations Director Rashinthe Rodrigo said, ‘Sri Lankan cuisine is still relatively new to many people in the UK, and we really want to change that. By extending the Eat Out to Help Out offer, we hope to introduce a whole new wave of customers to our food which is naturally fun and full of flavour.’ 

Their dishes include devilled pork and pineapple, chicken curried kotthu and vegetable kotthu, a rich roti dish.
