  • Tiemoue Bakayoko’s future is in limbo following comments made by his agent
  • The Chelsea flop has one year remaining on his deal and is on loan at Napoli
  • Bakayoko, 26, has scored twice for the Italians and is ‘happy’ at the club
  • However, his brother and agent says the Frenchman’s future is in the air

Tiemoue Bakayoko’s future is stuck in limbo with the Chelsea flop’s agent revealing that there are doubts as to whether loan side Napoli will make his stay permanent this summer.

The Frenchman, 26, has been sent out on loan for the past three seasons following his £40m arrival from Monaco in 2017 having failed to impress Antonio Conte, Maurizio Sarri and Frank Lampard.

Bakayoko has one year remaining on his contract at Stamford Bridge with new boss Thomas Tuchel reportedly seeing no future for the midfielder in West London

And Abdoulaye Bakayoko, brother and agent of the 26-year-old, has admitted that he does not know where the Napoli loanee will be playing next season.

‘It’s a good moment, Tiemoue scored in his last game with Napoli and the team are back in the top four,’ he told CalcioNapoli24 via The Sun. ‘He is happy to play at Napoli, one of the best Serie A clubs.

‘I respect [Napoli boss] Gennaro Gattuso, it was important to join him again after their experience at Milan. It’s been a nice season, Tiemoue feels at ease in the city and the team.

The 26-year-old has not played for Chelsea since 2018

The £40m midfielder is currently at Napoli (L) and has not played for Chelsea since 2018

‘However, I don’t know if he will remain at Napoli. If they qualify for the Champions League things could change.

‘He wants to play in the Champions League, but it also depends on Napoli and Chelsea.

‘Napoli don’t have an option to sign him permanently, Tiemoue is happy, but he is aware his destiny depends on what Chelsea and Napoli want to do.’

Abdoulaye had previously said joining Napoli was Bakayoko’s ‘priority’ but his most recent comments cast doubt over his future in Naples.

Bakayoko bagged his second goal of the season in Napoli’s 2-0 win over Torino last Saturday, and has provided two assists for Gattuso’s side this campaign.

The 26-year-old has also been sent out on loan to Monaco and AC Milan but has attracted no suitors for a permanent switch.
