It is widely acknowledged Tiger Woods‘ best days are behind him, but his son should more than most what he can do, even as 2023 nears.

Yet even Charlie Woods was surprised at the performance of his famous father at the weekend’s PNC Championship in Orlando, FL.

The nostalgic pairing finished at -20, after a 59 and 65 at the two-day event, placing eighth on their third appearance together at The Ritz-Carlton Golf Club.

‘I feel like I already knew what he was capable of, and then yesterday, that’s the best he’s ever played in a while. And that kind of shocked me,’ Charlie quipped.

Tiger Woods and Charlie shared some beautiful moments on The Ritz-Carlton in Orlando, FL.

In response, Tiger gave a self-deprecating remark in a fashion relatable to many fathers.

‘I used to be good,’ he remarked.

Their first round served as a reminder of what Woods Sr. can still do with a club in hand after a 59 earned a share of second with Team Singh, the eventual winners.

Sunday wasn’t as successful with the Woods family finishing eighth after a round of 65.

Though at the very least Charlie and Tiger are having fun on the courses together, even if it is at the expense of one another.

‘We always throw shots at each other,’ Charlie said. ‘And it’s just very fun.’

‘It’s literally nonstop. It starts pre-round. Before we even got here, the texts were flying,’ Tiger said of the back-and-forth.

‘And then warmup, the jabs were coming out. And then throughout the round, there were jabs, there were a couple notes left here and there, a couple things said that we love.’

Woods is giving fans what they love too, simply by virtue of being on the course. It may be early, but it seems his son will carry on that tradition.
