Tiger Woods has confirmed he will use a cart during his golfing comeback in an exhibition alongside Rory McIlroy on Saturday.
The 15-time major winner was forced to withdraw ahead of the Hero World Challenge last week because of plantar fasciitis in his right foot, costing him his first competitive rounds since The Open in July.
Despite concerns around his injury, which is an ongoing complication of the car accident that almost cost him his leg last year, Woods will team up with McIlroy in Florida on Saturday in The Match against Jordan Spieth and Justin Thomas.

Unlike a PGA Tour event, where carts are banned for those without an exemption, the exhibition format means Woods, 46, can use a buggy for the 12-hole showdown after admitting his difficulties walking the course.
He said: ‘I can hit golf balls. It’s just hard getting from point A to point B, so [the cart] will certainly help a lot.
‘Being in a cart is a totally different deal. That’s something I’ve done at home quite a bit. When I was trying to gear up and be able to play in the Hero and see if I could actually do it, the walking part was the challenge, it wasn’t actually swinging.
‘I’ve got to get this plantar to heal and that just takes time. It’s not something that happens overnight. It’s going to take a lot of rest and healing and unfortunately, treatment. It’s a tough road.’

If this weekend goes well, Woods plans to play alongside his son Charlie, 13, at the PNC Championship next week.
In a recent interview with the Golf Channel, Woods was asked when he thinks his son would start to outdrive him and his response surprised many watching.
‘It’s already happened. He hit a drive at Medalist and got me by a yard.

Not only is Charlie out-hitting his father, but he seems to be taking advice from him as well in how to approach his swing.
‘I told him, don’t copy my swing. Copy Rory’s,’ Woods said. ‘Have you ever seen Rory off balance on a shot? No. Not ever. You can swing as hard as you want on a shot, but you need to have balance.’
It seems to be paying off for Charlie, who swung a club 117 miles per hour according to Golf Channel’s Paul Azinger.
