Tottenham tracking Celtic defensive midfielder Ismaila Soro as Premier League side seek to bolster squad this summer under a restricted budget
- Soro was a £2.7m signing from Israeli side Bnei Yehuda in January
- The 22-year-old midfielder barely figured under former boss Neil Lennon
- Ivory Coast-born Soro has since made 20 appearances for Celtic this season
Tottenham are monitoring Celtic midfielder Ismaila Soro.
The 22-year-old was a £2.7million signing from Israeli side Bnei Yehuda in January last year but barely figured under former manager Neil Lennon.
That hasn’t dissuaded Tottenham though who recognise the Ivory Coast-born Soro as a holding player of talent who could bolster their squad.
Ismaila Soro has made 20 appearances this season following his £2.7m move to Celtic
He has gone on to make 20 appearances this season but there would still be obstacles around him earning a work permit should he move south with an appeal necessary if talks progress.
Tottenham are assessing a number of targets but will be working under a restricted budget.
They are also keen on Fulham centre back Joachim Andersen with Davinson Sanchez likely to leave.
Defender Joachim Andersen is a man in demand ahead of the summer transfer window
According to Danish publication BT Sports’ football podcast – Transfer Window – United, Chelsea and Tottenham are in the hunt for the centre-back, who joined Fulham on a season-long loan at the start of the campaign from Lyon.
The podcast also reports that the 24-year-old’s representatives are set to meet with Tottenham next week regarding a potential transfer in the summer after Sportsmail previously revealed Spurs were weighing up a move for him.
