Elizabeth Warren has detailed her skincare routine to give her a flawless complexion, and it has left Twitter users shocked by the simplicity.
The presidential candidate, 70, was the latest to visit the Cosmopolitan offices to discuss her bid for the Democratic Party nomination, and during the interview she was asked about her skincare routine.
‘Pond’s Moisturizer,’ Warren said for her go-to product. ‘Every morning, every night. And I never wash my face.’

Say what? People on Twitter marveled at the fact that Warren does not have a complicated and product-filled skincare routine, and instead just uses Pond’s Skin Cream
Shocked: Warren said she uses the $4.99 product in the mornings and evenings and never washes her face
Taking notes: Commenters said they might also stop washing their face because of how good Warren’s skin looks
The interview went on with Warren revealing she learned the skincare routine first from an older cousin named Tootsie.
‘Years ago I was, I guess probably somewhere in my 20s, and we’re at a big family reunion. And Tootsie was beautiful,’ Warren detailed.
Cult status: Pond’s was first launched in the 1800s, and is best known for its cold cream cleanser, however Warren prefers to use the brand’s Dry Skin Cream
‘I looked over at her, and I said, “Toots, how do you have such gorgeous skin?” She said, “Pond’s Moisturizer every morning, every night, and never wash your face.” So from Tootsie to me to you.’
The drugstore moisturizer, which is available at places like CVS and Target, retails for around $4.99 and boasts a ‘rich and creamy formula that is easily absorbed by the skin to hydrate deeply while significantly reducing dryness’.
The product also claims it will not clog pores.
People were shocked by Warren’s very simplistic skincare routine, including the fact she never washes her face.
‘That’s why Elizabeth Warren has that beautiful complexion? I wash my face too much,’ one Twitter user wrote following the interview.
Reactions: People took to Twitter to express their shock by Warren’s skincare routine
Surprised: Reactions ranged from people thinking the routine was good advice to some thinking it made Warren unfit to be president
Another person came to the candidate’s defense for choosing not to wash her face. The person explained the routine also works for her own complexion.
They wrote: ‘Once again Elizabeth Warren is correct. I don’t wash my face with soap or cleanser; just let cold water run over my face for the last minute of showers. If I’m exceptionally dirty I’ll wipe my face off with a baby wipe or use a cotton ball to remove eye makeup. We are legion.’
Not everyone was a fan of Warren’s confession about not washing her face.
There were some commenters who believed it was a poor skincare practice and thought Warren should no longer be in the running for president.
One person wrote: ‘Am I reading this correctly? Elizabeth Warren admitted she doesn’t wash her damn face? A person who doesn’t wash her damn face wants to be the president of these United States? On this land?’
Other presidential candidates previously revealed their own skincare routines when speaking with Cosmopolitan.
Pete Buttigieg said he uses soap in the shower to wash his face and will then use aftershave as his moisturizer. Bernie Sanders also had a minimalist skincare routine involving ‘something the doctor gave me something years ago’, but he couldn’t remember what it was.
Amy Klobuchar, on the other hand, said she is constantly using moisturizer, while Kamala Harris washes her face with Cetaphil and then moisturizes.
