The plane’s engine is believed to have set alight mid-flight.

Pictures from the ground and accounts from passengers say the engine set on fire and the plane started violently shaking.

Chris Vanderveen said the plane cheered when they touched back down after experiencing ‘engine issues’.

No injuries on the ground or in the plane were reported.

Officers are working to locate all the debris.
