Virgil van Dijk takes to Twitter to heap praise on Liverpool goalkeeper Alisson after his stunning header against West Brom keeps Champions League hopes alive… with Gary Lineker, Michael Owen and Micah Richards all left astounded by 90th minute winner

The football world has reacted in astonishment to Liverpool goalkeeper Alisson‘s stunning stoppage time headed winner against West Brom.

Liverpool were moments away from suffering a severe dent in their bid to reach next season’s Champions League, as they were being held to a 1-1 draw by the Baggies.

But the goalkeeper came up for a corner and was left unmarked as he hit a perfect header into the top corner to put Liverpool one point off the top four, with the two teams above them playing on Tuesday.

Alisson scored a shocking late winner for Liverpool in a dramatic victory over West Brom

His teammate Virgil van Dijk took to Twitter posting a video of Alisson singing Liverpool’s ‘Allez, allez, allez’ chant during their Champions League parade in 2019.

BBC and BT Sports presenter Gary Lineker tweeted: ‘Crikey! I’ve seen it all now. A last second winner from @LFC’s keeper. Alisson wonderland.’

Former Manchester City defender and Sky Sports pundit Micah Richards added: ‘Alisson Becker! Just incredible wow!!’

Former Liverpool striker Michael Owen tweeted: ‘Absolutely incredible. No other words for it.’
