Jason Gillman, 35, is charged with malicious wounding after allegedly shooting his wife in the back of the head on Monday
A West Virginia man has been arrested after allegedly shooting his wife in the back of the head during an argument about infidelity as their four-year-old son slept in the bedroom nearby.
Jason Gillman, 35, is facing multiple charges after the domestic dispute in Lenore on Monday night in which he accused his wife Tiffany of cheating before pulling his gun.
Tiffany managed to escape to a neighbor’s house to call for help and is expected to survive the shooting.
Deputies from Mingo County Sherriff’s Office were called to the home at around 12.30am where they found a single .22 caliber shell casing in living room as well as the gun allegedly used in the incident.
Their son was next door in the bedroom.
Jason was waiting for deputies outside the home’s garage as they arrived and told them that he did not mean to shoot his wife before he was taken into custody.
Tiffany was taken to ICU but has now been released.

Her family told WSAZ that it was a miracle she survived as they launched a fundraiser to help pay her bills on social media which as so far raised $1,000.
‘My little sister, Tiffany Gillman was shot in the back of the head by her husband,’ her sister Amanda Hall wrote on the Facebook fundraiser.
‘She has a 4 year old son who is waiting for his mommy to come home. She’s going to need as much help as possible.
‘She isn’t going to be able to go back to work for a while. She still has bills to pay and it’s getting close to Christmas.’
The neighborhood has also been left shocked by the shooting.
‘We were pretty taken back that it was someone we actually know that that happened to,’ neighbor Chris Workman told WSAZ.
‘Nobody knows why except for him. It’s a sad situation, especially since she had a kid.’
‘It’s pitiful,’ Workman added of the shooting while the couple’s child was nearby. ‘There is no excuse for that, for that kind of violence in front of a kid.’

Workman said that the community would come together to help after the incident.
‘In Mingo County, especially this little community, that is what we do,’ Workman said.
‘When somebody goes through something, everybody jumps in and tries to help. Tries to be with him and be for him. That’s the good thing about being back here.’
Gillman is now charged with malicious wounding, assault during the commission of a felony, domestic battery, wanton endangerment and child neglect with a risk of injury.
He is being held on a $30,000 bond.
