JEANS WITH A TWIST

I don’t know about you, but my jeans have been working especially hard for the past two years — which turned out to be a little more casual than expected.

Functional, fashionable, practical, jeans are the beating heart of any wardrobe and we’re used to them being reinvented; we’ve just said goodbye to skinnies and hello to straight or wide-leg styles. Lowslung slouch has replaced my favourite high waists.

BYE-BYE BLUES

And now it’s time to replace classic blue with bolder options. Yes, it’s the perfect opportunity to overhaul your denim.

Jeans, jumpsuits or jackets, everything has been updated with neons, pastels and primary colours. There are no rules — just make sure they are comfortable.

PICK PINK

The pair I’m wearing here are in a ‘washed coral’ colour with a high-rise, relaxed fit. They come from Me+Em and are an instant injection of spring. Mango has an awesome wide-leg, mid-rise pair in a vivid green, but this season hot pink is the colour to be seen in.

Pangaia has some in flamingo, striking but surprisingly easy to wear. An expensive but sustainable option: the label uses organic cotton, grown without pesticides or additional watering.

MANY FITS

Less ‘look at me’ are John Lewis’s cropped yellow design. You can find gorgeous colours across all styles: boyfriend, flared, and even those good old skinnies, if you can’t bear to let them go.

It’s time to let your jeans do the talking!
