Wife shames her husband’s Christmas gift after what she got was VERY different to what she asked for – before others turn on her for being ‘greedy’

  • An Australian woman has roasted her gift-giving husband’s Christmas present
  • She asked for a set of Coach earrings but instead he bought her Kate Spade ones
  • Many of the replies on Facebook asked her to be ‘grateful’ that ‘he tried’

An Australian woman has roasted her husband after he failed to follow her exact Christmas present specifications and purchased her a gift she didn’t want.

The wife, who chose to remain anonymous, shared her Christmas qualms in a Facebook group dedicated to sharing ‘what you asked for vs what you got’.

‘I’m roasting my husband for this. What I asked for versus what he gave me,’ she captioned a series of three images that showcased the epic error.

She asked her husband for Coach’s Medium Hoop Earrings, which were on sale for $39.20, but instead received a tiny pair of hoop earrings from Kate Spade that included cubic zirconia.

Her post attracted a fair amount of attention with fellow wives split on whether it was a problem or not. Some even preferred the Kate Spade choice.

‘I may be in the minority here, but the Kate Spade ones are much nicer,’ one woman wrote.

‘You don’t need to be so greedy,’ said another.

‘Why are people saying “he tried”, when clearly he didn’t? If your husband asks for a drill and you buy him a screwdriver, do you think he’d just appreciate what he got?’ another said.

A third added: ‘Mine didn’t get me anything. So be thankful’.

There were plenty of women who were surprised to see so many were accepting of their ‘terrible gifts’ and happy to receive nothing at all.

‘These comments made me realise how many women just accept the bare minimum. I used to be like that but it’s not right? If you know what you want and you’re not getting it… then why wouldn’t you speak up? If he doesn’t listen then find someone who will,’ said one lady.

‘Girl ignore these women that accept bottom of the barrel s*** from men. Don’t ask me for what I want and then get me something else. It’s literally that simple,’ said another.

The original poster said she wasn’t terribly unhappy about the Kate Spade earrings but it would have been nicer to receive the ones she chose.
