The ‘game changing’ freezer organising trick that will save you THOUSANDS in 2021 – and it makes the weekly grocery shop a breeze
- An organised mum has revealed how she saved thousands – just in the freezer
- She now labels food and puts it in containers so it doesn’t spill and get ruined
- She also says she finds it useful when she needs to do her weekly shopping
This ‘game changing’ freezer hack promises to save you thousands in spilled and spoiled produce and make it easier to do your weekly shopping.
An Australian mum revealed the simple freezer hack online and says she loves how she can ‘see what she needs’ at a glance, instead of digging through bags of frozen food.
The mum puts each item in a plastic container, clearly labeling on the side what is inside.

She uses disposable containers for meat, ‘fakeaway’ and treats like chips.
‘Instead of bags of veg that spill easily we have a container for each one,’ she said.
‘For things like spinach & spring onions that are only small bags I have the container ‘vegetables’ were we can put the bags to keep them in the same place, we also put any spare bags in there.’
And mums were quick to praise the very organised approach.
‘What a great idea, thank you for sharing, you have just inspired me,’ one mum said.
‘Love this idea!’ said another.
‘Wow. Game changer. Takes the fun out of finding those blasted frozen peas though,’ said another.

But not everyone was excited.
‘Even my pasty container which was made for the freezer ended up snapping and shattering after a while, so I am on the fence about this,’ one woman said.
Another woman shared pictures of her freezer, using a similar idea.
The photo shows Tupperware containers stacked in the freezer, filled with food, and labelled on the side.
How can I keep my fridge organised too?
Another mum has shared her hack for keeping her fridge organised.
Posting to the Mums Who Organise Facebook group, Karlie said she meal preps for three days every Sunday and Wednesday to ensure the food is fresh.
The impressive fridge organisation is divided into categories using storage containers, plastic trays and labels.
‘I added another shelf and a couple more trays and tubs – loving how it is working now,’ she said.
