Get the Kärcher K3 Power Control pressure washer

Cleaning garden patios is hard work, particularly if they’re plagued by stubborn moss, dirt, algae and other debris. But these before and after photos show how the all-new Kärcher K3 Power Control Pressure Washer (£149) can do all the hard work for you.

On Amazon, it’s clear Kärcher is King when it comes to pressure washers. It dominates the site’s Pressure Washers category, with several of its models, including the Kärcher K4 Full Control Pressure Washer (£199) and Kärcher K2 Full Control Pressure Washer (£99.99), landing the top spots, having fetched upwards of 1,000 five-star ratings.

The K3 Power Control is well-priced, compact, powerful, and just the ticket if you want to give your garden patio a good clean before you bring out your furniture and barbecue

Shoppers are obsessed with the powerful cleaning gadgets, which make light work of patios, driveways, decking and even cars, leaving them sparkling clean using just high pressure and water.

Reviewers describe them as ‘powerful’, a ‘must buy’ and ‘well worth the money’, and claim they ‘makes all those little chores like cleaning the drive and the patio an absolute breeze’.

I can attest to these claims, having put the Kärcher K3 Power Control Pressure Washer to the test, tackling my (very) neglected patio. The results were outstanding; the pressure washer had given my patio a new lease of life.

The electric washer is easy to assemble and comes equipped with a Dirt Blaster Spray Lance, Vario Spray Lance, a garden hose adaptor and a seven-foot hose. It’s also lightweight and has wheels, so it’s easy to store and will move as you work.

The gadget boasts 1600W and a maximum of 120 bar pressure, which is a step up from Kärcher’s previous affordable offerings such as the popular K2.

Its mid-range pressure is suitable for medium to heavy tasks such as cleaning fencing, the inside of a wheelie bin, decking, garden furniture, patios and dirty cars.

What’s more, the new model is still compatible with Kärcher’s range of pressure washer accessories, including their bestselling T-Racer patio cleaners.

But most impressively, the newly refreshed Power Control model allows you to switch between surfaces with the Vario Lance and LCD display trigger gun.

If you want the lowest power setting, twist the nozzle, and the LCD will light up level one, so you know it’s safe to use, which is ideal when cleaning a car. And if you need more power to tackle tougher jobs, twist to the hard setting.

After removing everything from the patio, I had a good sweep of the area to clear any loose debris. Once plugged into the mains and connected to my hose, I got to work.

I started with low pressure until I realised my patio needed extra oomph. Using the Dirt Blaster Spray Lance and pointing directly down above the grime, the muck disappeared immediately to reveal brighter, cleaner patio slabs. It saved me hours of hard work.

The job requires patience (and a couple of hours or so), particularly if you’re tackling a large surface area, but it feels less like a chore and is a satisfying task watching the K3 blast through the dirt and algae.

There is a detergent tank, and in hindsight my patio may have benefited from a soapy solution, which can be bought separately.

Overall, at £149 the K3 Power Control is well-priced, compact, powerful, and just the ticket if you want to give your garden patio a good clean before you bring out your furniture and barbecue. You can pick one up from Amazon here.
