Aaron Rodgers is back with the New York Jets on a full-time basis with fifth-year quarter back Tim Boyle set to make his second straight start against the Atlanta Falcons

Boyle made his Jets debut on Friday in an underwhelming showing against the Miami Dolphins.

However, Jets head coach Robert Saleh told reporters following the 34-13 loss that Boyle will remain the facilitator when they face Atlanta on December 3.

‘Yeah, we’re giving Timmy another shot to roll next week,’ Saleh said. ‘Obviously, there are things that he could have done better. There are things he had no control over.

‘I know he battled out there. We were able to get to certain calls that we were hoping to. We were able to execute a lot of the different things that we wanted to execute. It just didn’t come to full fruition.’

Saleh’s decision to bench Zach Wilson cleared the path for Boyle’s debut.

Boyle completed 27 of 38 passes for 179 yards with a touchdown and two interceptions.

He also attempted a Hail Marry before halftime which Miami’s safety Jevon Holland converted into a 99-yard touchdown return.

Additionally, Boyle was sacked seven times as Rodgers watched from the sideline.

But is now Rodgers staying in New Jersey rather than traveling to California to rehab an Achilles tear that he suffered on September 11.

Rodgers, who turns 40 on December 2, has been open about attempting an unprecedented return from the injury.

Ten weeks since his surgery, Rodgers is reportedly hoping to practice in early December and play against the Washington Commanders on Christmas eve.

‘He’s in the building,’ Saleh said of Rodgers. ‘When we get a doctor’s note that says he’s clear, he’ll be cleared for practice then.’

The Jets have been on a rollercoaster of a season since Rodgers got hurt in his debut.

Their opening night win was followed by three losses, then three wins. New York currently hold a 4-7 record after losing their last four games.

The Jets are currently third in the AFC East while the Falcons (4-6) are second in the NFC South ahead of their meeting.
