Adele’s make-up artist teases star’s comeback as he reveals ‘exciting news coming soon’

Adele‘s make-up artist has sent the rumour mill into overdrive as he hinted something ‘exciting’ is ‘coming soon’ in a cryptic Instagram post. 

Michael Ashton, 38, shared a black and white snap of the Hello hitmaker, 31, doing her make-up in the mirror on his stories on Thursday.

And his mysterious post has set tongues wagging that the star could be making a musical comeback, after not having released an album since 2015’s 25.

Captioning the striking image, Michael, who has worked with Adele for 12 years, penned: ‘BTW…. EXCITING NEWS COMING SOON!!

‘GET READY TO GET ON BOARD.’

Though he didn’t give any clues on what the news was, his post was sure to send everyone into a spin about a potential new track from the superstar. 

It comes just days after the Someone Like You singer left fans panicking that her highly-anticipated comeback album has been pushed back to 2021 as she made a cryptic comment on Instagram.

The star, whose last album, 25, sold 22 million copies worldwide, as well as two Grammy Awards, was tuned into an Instagram Live between producers Babyface and Teddy Riley earlier this month. 

The chat was continually interrupted by glitches, leading Adele to comment:  ‘Come on, it’s 2020 – we ain’t meant to get what we want!’

This sent her fans into a tailspin, believing it’s confirmation that the album will be postponed til next year.

The likes of Lady Gaga, Sam Smith and Alanis Morissette have all put their forthcoming album releases on hold thanks to the global health crisis.

But OneRepublic frontman Ryan Tedder, who is collaborating with Adele on the new album, did give fans some good news last month when he said she ‘sounds better than ever’.

Ryan, who has previously helped the singer write classic hits such as Rumour Has It and Turning Tables, broke his promise to ‘stay completely mum’ over the singer’s new music.

Speaking to The Sun, Ryan teased: ‘I’ll just say that she sounds better than ever.’

Adding that he was going to hold his tongue and ‘stay completely mum’ on his time in the studio for the songstress’ fourth album. 

Adele, who filed for divorce from her husband in September, is expected to drop a new track on being ‘optimistic’ about moving on from her failed marriage with Simon Konecki. 

Last month Adele accidentally let slip that her new album would be released in September when she attended her pal Laura Dockrill’s wedding reception.

In an exclusive video clip obtained by MailOnline, Adele can be heard telling the crowd ‘expect my album in September’ before she belts out her hit Rolling In The Deep. 

It comes after a source told People that the artist is ‘definitely getting ready both mentally and physically to promote new music.’

The Tottenham native was reportedly ‘feeling free’ after filing for divorce from her husband Simon Konecki, after announcing their separation in April 2019.

Since then the star has stunned fans with her incredible transformation after losing seven stone.
