Andre has hosted his own talk show on Adult Swim since 2012 and is known for his goofy humor and pranks.

As of Tuesday night, the petition had garnered more than 54,000 signatures.

It comes as controversy continues to swirl around DeGeneres amid accusations of a toxic working environment on her show.

One current and ten former employees of the daytime chat show have accused its top producers of bullying and sexual harassment.

Late last month, DeGeneres wrote a substantial memo to her employees, saying that she and Warner Bros. are ‘taking steps, together, to correct the issues.’

‘On day one of our show, I told everyone in our first meeting that The Ellen DeGeneres Show would be a place of happiness – no one would ever raise their voice, and everyone would be treated with respect. Obviously, something changed, and I am disappointed to learn that this has not been the case. And for that, I am sorry,’ she wrote.

‘As we’ve grown exponentially, I’ve not been able to stay on top of everything and relied on others to do their jobs as they knew I’d want them done. Clearly some didn’t,’ she added. ‘That will now change and I’m committed to ensuring this does not happen again.’

Warner Bros., the studio behind the show, has declined to comment citing an ongoing investigation.

Meanwhile, on Tuesday, Katy Perry and Kevin Hart came to Ellen’s defense, expressing support for the bealeagured comedienne and TV personality.

‘It’s crazy to see my friend go thru what she’s going thru publicly,’ Hart, 41, wrote on his Instagram alongside a picture of the pair on her show. ‘I have known Ellen for years and I can honestly say that she’s one of the dopest people on the f*****g planet.’

While Hart maintained that his post was not ‘meant to disregard the feelings of others and their experiences’ he stressed that DeGeneres has ‘treated my family and my team with love and respect from day 1.’

Katy Perry took to Twitter to praise Ellen’s ‘continual fight for equality’ and insisted she had ‘only ever had positive takeaways from my time with Ellen and on the show’.

Perry, 35, wrote: ‘I know I can’t speak for anyone else’s experience besides my own but I want to acknowledge that I have only ever had positive takeaways from my time with Ellen & on the @theellenshow.’

The Firework hitmaker added: ‘I think we all have witnessed the light & continual fight for equality that she has brought to the world through her platform for decades. Sending you love & a hug, friend @TheEllenShow.’
