‘Is the Aldi Confidence toilet paper made by Quilton with a different print and cheaper price?’ the shopper wrote in a Facebook group.

‘Someone in manufacturing forgot to change the “core” for the Aldi toilet roll.’

An Aldi Australia spokesperson declined to comment when contacted by Daily Mail Australia.

Thousands of shoppers were amazed with the discovery, saying they never knew Aldi’s version was made by same manufacturers of the well-known supermarket brand.

Many said they were ‘gobsmacked’ when they were told Quilton’s toilet papers are ‘disguised’ under Aldi’s exclusive brand.

‘Oh wow! We only use Quilton as my boys are fussy with toilet paper. I might try the Aldi brand and compare it. They have definitely same prints,’ one mother wrote.

A second said: ‘These are my go to for toilet paper. I had a feeling they were made by Quilton but this confirms it.’
