Aldi shopper baffled after opening her new loaf of bread and finding a SECOND different variety squeezed inside the bag

  • An Aldi shopper found a second variety of bread stuffed inside her new loaf bag
  • The unusual find left hundreds of shoppers stumped after it was shared online
  • ‘That would have been from the end of one run of dough,’ one explained
  • ‘They haven’t dumped enough of the dough before starting up the next run’

An Aldi shopper has left hundreds stumped after opening her new loaf of bread to find a second variety stuffed inside the bag.

Sydney mum-of-two Bambi bought a loaf of wholemeal sliced bread, but was surprised to find different coloured bread of various sizes.

‘Well that was weird,’ she wrote on Facebook, adding: ‘I am not outraged or complaining about Aldi, these things happen but definitely surprised.’

The top row of bread appeared to be the original wholemeal slices, while the bottom row was a much darker colour.

Aldi declined providing a comment to Daily Mail Australia, but encourage customers to contact their local store directly with any inquiries or issues.

The social media post caused a stir online but Bambi attempted to provide some clarification.

‘The first picture is the front of the bread in packaging. The second picture the loaf is on its side white part was the top brown part was the bottom,’ she said.

‘For people calling it fake thanks for ruining the weird bread post, I have better things to do then stage bread incidents.’

Hundreds of shoppers part of the Aldi Mums Facebook group pondered how the situation occurred, with many thinking the dark coloured slices were banana bread or due to a malfunction.

‘It’s like they accidentally went through a machine or slicer and got squashed together. Bizarre!’ one woman said.

Another added: ‘That would have been from the end of one run of dough, changeover to the next and they haven’t dumped enough of the dough before starting up the next run.

‘I would say two mixtures were not mixed together, there would have been air space between the 2two (I’m not sure I have explained that properly) and the two different doughs would be cooked at different temps, so the bottom one would have cooked faster than the whole meal mixture.

‘Kind of like one dough would have been extruded out, then the other, like placing two pieces of play dough on top of each other without mixing it, just one piece of dough laying on the other.’

Another woman claimed she experienced the same thing after buying a loaf of bread from Coles.

Despite the odd situation, Bambi was pleased she received more slices of bread than originally anticipated.
