Alex Jones has been very candid about her return to BBC’s The One Show on Monday night, posting a series of Instagram posts to reflect on her time spent on maternity leave.
And the TV presenter, 42, shared a photo on set just before walking out to host her first night back, donning a hot pink power suit and revealing a fresh new hair do.
Alex’s usual shoulder length bob appeared inches shorter with her new caramel locks brushing up against her jawline.

In the photo she posted to Instagram, The One Show co-host smiled cheerfully as she posed in a hot pink blazer and matching trousers, that she paired with a white printed David Bowie tee.
Alongside the photo, the mum-of-two playfully wrote: ‘Ready to get back on the horse! Hoping I remember what to do……’
It seems the new look was a hit as the photo was met with many fans complimenting the co-host on her new hair, and wishing her luck on her television return.

The presenter took time off following the birth of her son Kit, now seven months, and wrote about feeling ‘anxious’ but ‘excited’ emotions in the sweet post.
Alongside a black and white photo of her holding baby Kit and Teddy, two, Alex wrote: ‘Back to work today. So many different feelings. Anxious about leaving the boys, excited to be back on the show’.

She continued in the post: ‘As soon as I put lipstick on this morning, little Ted looked at me with his huge brown eyes and asked “where are you going mummy?”
‘It nearly killed me, but it’s time to go back and I’m looking forward to going back to a job I love, but my goodness, I’ll miss these two. So here we go…the juggle begins’.
On Sunday, Alex posted a story which showed Kit asleep in his cot with her fingers crossed for a good night sleep to prepare for her return to work.

Last week, Alex shared an sweet selfie with husband Charlie Thomson to mark the couple’s fourth wedding anniversary.
She posted the sweet snap on her Instagram page last Thursday after celebrating four years since the pair tied the knot on New Year’s Eve.
Alex and insurance broker Charlie toasted the special occasion by escaping to the coast on Thursday with their two young sons.

The television personality also shared snaps to her Instagram story, which showed her relaxing by the fire and catching up on some reading.

Alex and Charlie were married in Cardiff Castle on December 31, 2015, after four years together.
Speaking to HELLO! magazine, Alex revealed she enjoyed every second of her wedding day, she said: ‘It was spectacular.
‘Everyone says it’s the best day of your life and it just exceeded my expectations. I enjoyed every single second’.
After tying the knot in 2015, the couple welcomed their first son Teddy in January 2017.

In May last year, Alex took to Instagram to announce the arrival of their second child.
Sharing an adorable black and white snap of the newborn’s hand, she added the gushing caption: ‘And then there were 4!!!
‘Little Kit Thomson arrived safely and very speedily last Monday at 2.21am weighing a healthy 7lbs 3.
‘Teddy, Charlie and I are absolutely besotted by baby brother and are enjoying this special time as we get used to being a foursome and generally breathing in that lovely newborn smell!!!’ (sic)
