Alexa Chung is her usual stylish self in a white floral midi-dress

And Alexa Chung and Tan France certainly looked the part when they stepped out on Friday at the launch party and Q&A for the show, held at at Mortimer House in London

Alexa, 36, was her usual stylish self in a white floral midi dress that fell below her knees. The elegant fit of the dress featured a ruffle under her bust with a v shaped neckline and quirky shoulder pads.

She posed alongside the gorgeous Tan France, 36, who looked as chic as ever in a black boiler suit.

Next In Fashion is Netflix’s latest competition show set to hit the streaming service on January 29.

Although the competition series is similar to that of Project Runway, which model Karlie Kloss now hosts, with designers competing against each other through collections they create, the show also puts its own spin on the industry

Alexa and Tan scoured fashion talent across the world to select designers who have already worked with the greats of the industry.

Designers boast to previously working with household names like Alexander Wang and Stella McCartney, an experience that sets these competitors a part from other fashion competition shows.

According to the trailer, France and Chung are looking to find the next designer who can also become a household name with their innovative and showstopping creations.

‘Who amongst you is a household name?’ France questioned the 18 contestants at the start of the trailer.

His question was then met with raised eyebrows and concerned looks from all the designers, but they were ready to compete.

‘That’s exactly why we’re here today,’ Chung told the designers.

Not only are France and Chung notable people in the fashion industry, but there will also be a series of guest judges appearing week to week throughout the competition to judge the designers.

Guest judges set to appear include Instagram’s Eva Chen, designer Tommy Hilfiger, designer Prabal Gurung, designer Kerby Jean-Raymond, model Adriana Lima, and celebrity stylist Elizabeth Stewart.

The competition show is similar to hits like Project Runway in that designers will compete week to week in different challenges.

They will then appear in front of the judges after displaying the collection created for that week.

Although the show starts out with 18 designers, these numbers will quickly dwindle as the judges decide who has what it takes…and who doesn’t.

The stakes are high for the talent competition, as it is offering the winner $250,000 and the opportunity to display their collection with Net-a-Porter, an online store offering a curated selection of designer wear.

All 10 episodes of the competition show will air on January 29, giving fans the opportunity to binge watch and discover the winner within hours of starting the series.

Alexa and Tan’s new show launch comes as Variety revealed that Netflix is expected to spend a staggering $17.3 billion on content in 2020 – an impressive $2 billion increase on its 2019 spend.

According to a report from Wall Street firm BMO Capital Markets, the streaming giant will spend the majority of that sum on original content – like Next in Fashion – and also includes deals with Nickelodeon and Game of Thrones showrunners David Benioff and Dan Weiss.
