An American expat has gone viral TikTok after sharing a video and labelling Kmart as ‘the only shop you’ll ever need’ because it has ‘everything’ besides groceries.
Katie Payne didn’t hold back when filming herself praising the popular budget department store – and the 40-second video has already been viewed more than half a million times.
‘I’ve seen it all; I’ve been to Big W, I’ve been to Target … but my absolute favourite store in this f***ing country is Kmart,’ she said.
‘Are you joking? It’s fantastic,’ Katie added as she spun around while the camera was still recording.

‘The only thing it’s missing is groceries but there’s a f***ing Coles right over there so it’s fine,’ she said.
Like thousands of other customers across the country, Katie was particularly impressed with the cheap priced clothing items.
‘The clothes are spot-on – I just got these cute a** shorts [for] five bucks,’ she said.

But although Katie is a definite fan of Kmart, she admitted Target Australia doesn’t live up to expectations compared to the American version.
‘Target in the US slaps way more, not going to tell a lie,’ she said.
At the end of the video Katie was also left stunned after realising the link between Australian department stores and supermarkets.
‘I also just put two and two together and Coles and Kmart go together and Big W and Woolies go together – that’s a mindf**k, I love that,’ she said.

The video itself has been ‘liked’ more than 98,000 times, with many other TikTok users sharing other likeminded comments of praise towards the store.
‘Kmart is actually the best, gotten so much better these past few years,’ one person said.
‘You don’t go to Kmart with a list – you go to Kmart and let it decide what you need,’ another joked.
‘Big W and Woolworths are owned by the same company, same with Coles and Kmart,’ a third added, explaining the link between the stores.
A fourth added: ‘Kmart quality is going up, while the prices are going down!’
