GOOD QUALITY SHEETS

Many agreed that the first thing Lauren should think about investing in is good quality sheets, pillowcases and bedding.

‘High thread count sheets and pillowcases are a must,’ one woman wrote.

Another said if you want good quality, you should buy bamboo bedding.

‘Bamboo sheets are fantastic, I stayed at a friend’s house with them and they are worth every cent. It’s like sleeping on lucerne if that was a thing.’

Many said if you want good quality bamboo sheets, then a shop like Adairs is a great place to start.

‘I love ours from Adairs,’ one woman wrote.

Hundreds said that owning a Thermomix has completely changed their life.

Not only does the $2,000 device help to make food prep much easier, but it also encourages families to eat healthier too.

‘Owning a Thermomix has made it easier to eat healthier because food prep and baking has got a lot cheaper and less labour intensive,’ one woman wrote.

Others said they use the device to bake their own bread, Paleo sweet treats, yoghurt and smoothies – which saves them a small fortune in cafes.

‘It’s the best thing ever at the end of a party or weekend drinks. Toss it all in and wake up to a clean kitchen.’

Others said even just the luxury of having a first dishwasher has meant a lot to them:

‘An honourable mention for late uptake of the dishwasher,’ one woman posted.

‘Why didn’t we have one when the kids were little and we could have done without worrying about getting to the dishes everyday?’

What were the other gadgets that were mentioned?

* Hizero bionic mop ($799)

‘They are also a winner if you do night shifts.’

In the same way, others said double-glazed windows have been useful for keeping the noise out.

AMAZON ALEXA

Many have converted to the smart home way of life in recent years, and dozens said the best thing you can buy to make your house more tech-friendly is the Amazon Alexa (from $79).

‘I’ve connected my Amazon Alexa to the lights and it’s brilliant – I just ask her to turn them off,’ one woman wrote.

Others said you can easily sync your Amazon Alexa so it helps you in countless areas of your life, including with your recipes and shopping lists.

AIRPODS

‘I know I’m late to the party, but the new Airpods are amazing,’ one woman wrote.

‘Amazing sound, noise cancelling and so comfy. Plus they are cordless!’

Another added: ‘I couldn’t agree more. I debated on whether to buy them for months. I have used headphones to sleep for eight years and only just decided to spend some money on some quality ones.
