A baseball bat that was used in a 1923 exhibition game by Babe Ruth was sold for an outrounding $1,323,000 last weekend according to an announcement from Robert Edward Auctions.

The bat used by Ruth was a Hillerich & Bradsby signature model that he used in an October benefit game 100 years ago, in which he recorded a home run according to the description.

It measures at nearly 36 inches long and weights 41.9 ounces and did not possess any cracks.

The bat also showed signature signs of use by Ruth that included left-barrel contact area and a scored handle.

PSA/DNA found on the bat dated back to a manufacturing period from 1922-1924.

The knob, handle, and dimensions of the bat’s barrel were also said to be ‘easily recognized’ as a particular bat Ruth had ordered six times during the labeling period.

Despite the incredibly high price which the bat sold for it is not the most expensive Babe Ruth bat sold at an auction.

That honor belongs to one of Ruth’s bats that sold for an outrageous $ 1.85million in April if this year, which also holds the honor of the most expensive bat for any player ever.

Another Ruth bat sold for $1.68 million in August of 2022.

Ruth’s bats are also not the only memorabilia from his legendary career to sell for big money.

Back in November of 2022 one of Ruth’s baseball gloves shattered the previous record for the most expensive glove sold at an auction of $387,500 when it sold for $1.53 million.
