Barack and Michelle Obama write love notes to each other on Valentine’s Day

The Obamas are celebrating Valentine’s Day with characteristically loved-up posts on Instagram.

This afternoon, Obama, 60, shared a photo of Michelle and himself dancing at a 2013 inaugural ball, writing: ‘Happy Valentine’s Day, Michelle! With a smile that lights up the world, you’re truly one-of-a-kind. Today and always, I am thankful to have you in my life.’

Michelle, 58, soon responded in kind, uploading a more casual snap of the pair outside in what appears to be Hawaii

‘I feel so blessed to be able to spend every day with this guy,’ she wrote.  ‘Happy Valentine’s Day, Barack! Here’s to all the adventures we have ahead.’

While photos of the couple at the inaugural ball have been seen before, the photo taken in Hawaii appears to be brand new.

The Obamas were most recently in the former president’s home state over Christmas and New Year’s.

In the photo, Michelle is dressed down in a tank top and leggings, her hair hidden under a baseball cap.

Obama is in a dark T-shirt and a backwards cap, and the pair stand on a dock looking out in the same direction.

The Obamas — who tied the knot on On October 3, 1992 — frequently shared affectionate posts about each other on birthdays, anniversaries, and Valentine’s Day.

Most recently, in January, Obama celebrated Michelle’s 58th birthday by sharing a sweet shot of himself kissing her smiling cheek as a beautiful sunset plays out behind them.

‘Happy Valentine’s Day, @barackobama!’ she wrote. ‘Life is always brighter when I’m by your side.’

So far, neither Donald nor Melania Trump has shared a Valentine’s Day post. Ivanka, formerly a frequent poster, has been fairly quiet on Instagram since leaving the White House, and has also not yet posted about the holiday.

Don Jr. shared a mocked-up valentine bearing his father’s face with the words: ‘I want you on my side of the wall.’
