Barcelona pay ANOTHER £4.4m to Borussia Dortmund for Ousmane Dembele to take his total transfer fee to £115m after he hits 50 appearances – and there’s even more to come!

  • Dortmund receive £4.4m for his 25th, 50th, 75th and 100th appearance at Barca
  • Dembele made 57 league outings, meaning Dortmund are looking to his 75th

Borussia Dortmund have received another windfall from Barcelona following the sale of Ousmane Dembele in 2017.

The Bundesliga giants collected another £4.4million from Barca after inserting several add-ons into Dembele’s £96m transfer deal three years ago.

The add-ons, that are activated by individual and club successes, will ultimately see his fee reach £136m.

Barcelona agreed to pay Dortmund £4.4m each time Dembele reached an appearance milestone at the club – Including his 25th, 50th, 75th and 100th competitive outing for Barcelona.

Dortmund are on track to pick up their third instalment as Dembele closes in on his 75th league appearance for the Catalans.

As it stands, Dembele has featured 57 times in the Spanish top-flight, 18 times in the Champions League, seven times in the Cup and once in the Supercup.

Meaning the former Dortmund man has featured 83 times in all competitions for Barcelona.

However, Dembele is being monitored by a host of European clubs including Manchester United and Arsenal as doubts remain over his future at the Nou Camp.

Dembele has fallen down the pecking order since Ronald Koeman’s arrival – having only started four games this season.

A £368m release clause was inserted into Dembele’s Barca contract, but now the club run the real risk of seeing the player walk away without them recouping a penny.

Dembele currently has a year-and-a-half left on his contract, but it is believed he has a ‘plan’ to run down lucrative contract and leave for free in 2022.

Cash-strapped Barca are determined to prevent such an eventuality and will look to generate funds with his potential sale instead.
