In amazing scenes, a six metre sculpture of Mr Borat Sagdiyev now proudly sits in Bondi’s Marks Park.

It was transported across Sydney Harbour in a military helicopter although is unlikely to fill the void left by Sculptures by the Sea which has been cancelled this year due to COVID-19.

In almost every direction, Kazakhstan flags could be seen, as beefed up Bondi locals shared their park with moustachioed Borat look-a-likes.

Mask-clad Kazakhstanis were spotted riding up and down the Pavilion on segways and a Borat-inspired yoga class was a show-stopping spectacle on the sand.

A series of surfing lessons also provided a chance for the Borat dopplegangers to showcase their ability in the ocean.

Borat, the man himself, even took time out to celebrate the occasion by speaking at a virtual press conference.

He confirmed the his erected statute has ‘been in quarantine’ in a Melbourne Hotel for 14 days, and was ‘probably’ COVID-19 free.

Sacha Baron Cohen’s Borat Subsequent Moviefilm premieres on Amazon Prime Video on Friday, 23 October.
