Cadbury launches a PINEAPPLE flavoured chocolate

Cadbury launches a PINEAPPLE flavoured chocolate but fans are divided over whether it’s delicious or disgusting

  • Cadbury has created a milk chocolate inspired by Pascall Pineapple Lumps
  • It is part of a special edition range that will only be on sale for a limited time only
  • But customers aren’t sure if it will be tasty to try and are feeling reserved about it

Cadbury has released a milk chocolate inspired by Pascall Pineapple Lumps in New Zealand for a limited time only.

The special edition dairy product will be available in supermarkets as of September 16 but only for a few short weeks.

The picture of the new chocolate block surfaced on King Of Cheat Meals Facebook page this week – but not everyone was excited about the controversial fruit.

‘Something about the word lump just doesn’t sound appetising,’ one person said.

‘I thought this was corn at first. It looks a little bit disgusting,’ another added.

Others were entirely on board calling it ‘a miracle’ and ‘the most delicious concoction they’d ever seen’.

‘This is the chocolate that sealed our friendship I’d say,’ said one man, tagging his friend in the comments section.

‘I’m sure we would destroy a few packets of this,’ added another.

Traditional Pascal Pineapple Lumps were produced by Dunedin’s Cadbury factory in New Zealand.

Invented almost 60 years ago they feature a layer of chocolate coating around a pineapple-flavoured ‘lump’ of marshmallow.

They have a cult following from Down Under right up to the United States, with many Americans commenting on the post to say they wish it shipped to them.

At $3.60 a block it’s not known yet exactly where they will be stocked but more information will come to light as the launch date gets closer.

‘We’re so excited to provide New Zealand with a new way to enjoy these two much-loved Kiwi favourites,’ Will Papesch, a spokesman for Cadbury New Zealand, said.

‘Both Pineapple Lumps and Cadbury Dairy Milk are such classic icons, it’s great to be able to create a way to enjoy and share them in a new, delicious treat.’
