Caitlyn Jenner: ‘There’s no way Robert Kardashian didn’t know if OJ Simpson killed Nicole Brown’

Caitlyn Jenner spoke about her involvement in the trial of OJ Simpson on Wednesday night’s edition of I’m A Celebrity… Get Me Out Of Here!

Speaking to Kate Garraway and Jacqueline Jossa, Caitlyn revealed that she had seen Nicole Brown Simpson just two days before she was found dead, and that Robert Kardashian must have known whether OJ was guilty of killing her or not when he represented him on his defense team.

‘It was the first time that anybody saw anything like it, you were at the heart of it weren’t you?’ Kate said to Caitlyn, who, when she was Bruce, was married to Kris, the best friend of Nicole and the ex-wife of Robert.

‘I saw Nicole two days before she was murdered. It was Kris’ best friend, we were right in the middle of it. [Kris’] ex-husband Robert – OJ was the best man at their wedding,’ Caitlyn, 70, recounted.

She went on: ‘It was a bad time for everybody, very difficult. We knew what happened and this trial was a joke and when the verdict came down Kris just turned around to me and goes: “We should have listened to Nicole from the beginning, she was right.”

‘That night the verdict came in Kourtney and Kimberly [Kardashian] were in school and obviously they loved their father – and they should – and they’d been following this for a year and a half.

‘And when they walked in the door, I think it was Kourtney who said: “Well I told you he didn’t do it.”

On trial: Asked whether or not she’d liked OJ [pictured on trial in 1994], Caitlyn replied - 'No. Too big an ego for me. We went on some vacations together with OJ and Nicole and the kids. I liked Nicole and she sure didn’t deserve what she got'

‘And I just said to the girls: “Just because he got a not guilty didn’t mean he didn’t do it and I don’t want his name ever mentioned in this house again.”‘

Jacqueline asked whether Robert knew the truth, to which Caitlyn carefully replied: ‘I mean, there’s just no way he didn’t know.’

Reflecting on this later, Jacqueline said: ‘Caitlyn has been involved in some huge news, breaking stories and she is so open and honest about it and it’s a lot to take in, they were good friends and it’s a sad story.’

American footballer-turned-Naked Gun actor OJ was charged and tried with the murder of Nicole, his ex-wife by that stage, and her friend Ron Goldman in 1994.

At the time, Caitlyn [then Bruce] had been married to Kris for three years, having divorced Robert in 1991, after having four children with him, who would grow up to be the stars of Keeping Up With The Kardashians.

OJ ended up being acquitted but in 1997 a civil court awarded a $33.5 million judgment against him for the victims’ wrongful deaths. He moved to Florida to avoid paying any more of the liability judgment in 2000.

He was arrested seven years later in Las Vegas and charged with armed robbery and kidnapping, sentenced to 33 years imprisonment in 2008.

He was released on 1 October 1 2017.
