‘But the home we’re in now doesn’t have one and we’re like, “Damn, we need separate bathrooms!”‘ he added.

Earlier in the interview, Alison said that going to therapy had been the best thing for their relationship, after Cameron had cheated on her in the ’90s.

‘[The infidelity] happened very early in our marriage, we were both very young,’ she said of her husband’s betrayal.

‘Therapy was the best thing we ever did, it really was the best thing. It was the best thing for me personally.’

Cameron and Alison discuss the ins and outs of marriage on their podcast, Separate Bathrooms and other Handy Marriage Tips.

Last year, Cameron admitted their relationship was never the same again after he’d cheated on his model wife in 1994.

Alison added that the couple had to go through a ‘hell of a lot of work’ before they could finally reach a happy place.

‘I was the one who left the marriage,’ Cameron told Woman’s Day, admitting that he had been unfaithful, not Alison.

His infidelity took place in America, after he had relocated there for his acting career.

Alison admitted that their marriage was hardly ‘couple goals’, but they worked on it and are better off today.

‘You don’t get to 28 years of marriage without a hell of a lot of work and struggles – and a fair chunk of pain and tears,’ she said.

The couple, who wed in 1991, opened up about their past troubles during an interview on Studio 10 last year.

‘It felt harder to walk away than stay,’ said Alison, after Cameron had publicly admitted to his infidelity for the first time in a blog post in March.

She explained how they had sought therapy in 1994 after Cameron had strayed, a decision that ultimately saved their relationship.

Today, the couple are happier than ever after almost 30 years of marriage. They also share three children: Lotus, 23, River Tru, 19 and Bodhi Faith, 13.
