CCTV has captured the terrifying moment a young motorist was carjacked and threatened with a knife at a petrol station.

A manhunt is underway for two brazen helmet-wearing robbers who ambushed the 18-year-old at the Warwick Farm BP in Sydney’s south-west just after 7pm on Monday night.

Footage shows the motorist returning to his white Mercedes AMG where he’s confronted by a man armed with a knife.

The thief then gets into the driver’s seat of the $110,000 luxury car and turns on the ignition as the owner is ordered to stand back.

The desperate owner tries to open the rear door to stop the quick getaway but is stopped by a second offender sitting on a motorbike behind the car.

The motorcyclist punches the man in the face and pushes him away from the Mercedes, allowing the driver to speed off.

The man manages to open the rear driver’s side door and tries to chase after his beloved car as the driver and his motorcyclist accomplice flee the scene.

The quick getaway was made possible after the owner left his keys in the car as he paid for petrol.

The white Mercedes AMG with NSW registration plates DMR-95N was last seen heading south on the Hume Highway.

Police say both offenders were wearing full face helmets at the time.

Anyone with information about the car’s whereabouts or the offenders involved is urged to call Crime Stoppers on 1800 333 000.
