Chelsea and PSG ‘eyeing up loan move for Barcelona’s £60m outcast Miralem Pjanic’ with Catalan giants looking ‘to offload Bosnian midfielder’ following nightmare debut season at Nou Camp

  • Miralem Pjanic has endured a miserable debut season at Barcelona
  • He has been left on the fringes of Ronald Koeman’s squad after his £60m move
  • The Catalan giants are reportedly hoping to offload him on loan this summer
  • Reports in France claim both Chelsea and PSG are interested in the midfielder

Chelsea and PSG are both reportedly interested in signing Barcelona outcast Miralem Pjanic on loan this summer following what has been a miserable debut campaign for the midfielder.

The 31-year-old only joined the Catalan side in a whopping £60million last summer, with Arthur Melo heading in the opposite direction to Juventus for £75m.

But now, after just 11 months at the Nou Camp, Pjanic could be heading for the exit.

Thomas Tuchel is also reportedly weighing up a move for the Barcelona outcast

According to French news outlet Le10Sport, Pjanic has been offered around to clubs in Europe with Barcelona looking to offload him once the window reopens.

The report goes on to claim that Chelsea and PSG are keen on a season-long loan move, with Thomas Tuchel and Mauricio Pochettino both admirers of the Bosnian.

While both clubs have been approached about a move, neither has turned down Pjanic and will instead wait to make their move at the end of the season.

Le10Sport go on to claim that Pjanic does not want to stay at the Nou Camp to simply warm the bench but his wages could present a problem for potential suitors.

Pjanic, who has a staggering £365m buyout clause in his contract, has three years left on his current deal.

After making his big-money move, Pjanic had high hopes to help turn Barcelona’s fortunes around but his lack of game time as a starter has hindered him.

In LaLiga, 12 of his 18 appearances saw him come off the bench while he’s not contributed a goal or an assist in the 29 games he’s played across all competitions.
