Cops looking for possible ‘active shooter’ at US Capitol: Senate office building put on lockdown and staff told to hide after ‘concerning’ 911 call

Capitol Police are looking for a possible active shooter at the US Captiol.

Senate office buildings have been placed on lockdown after a ‘concerning’ 911 call.

Staff have been told to hide in their offices and keep their phones on silent. 

Capitol Police tweeted on Wednesday afternoon at 2.45pm: ‘Our officers are searching in and around the Senate Office Buildings in response to a concerning 911 call. 

‘Please stay away from the area as we are still investigating. We will continue to communicate with the public here.’
