This is the heartwarming moment a Dallas zoo keeper on maternity leave introduced her baby daughter to one of the gorillas she looked after. 

Mary Kate Findley brought her two-month-old daughter Olivia to the gorilla compound to show her off to 20-year-old Juba. 

The footage, which has been shared on TikTok, has been viewed more than 30 million times.

During the short video, Findley, who is wearing a face mask, sits down behind a thick glass screen with her daughter. 

Juba the gorilla was sitting with his back to the glass, but when he notices Findley and her daughter, he turns slowly around to face them. 

The silverback gorilla lives in the compound with a group of three other bachelor apes.  

Commenting on the video, Findley wrote: ‘The sweetest boy meeting my sweet baby for the first time.’

After viewing the footage, which was posted on February 25, Denver Zoo wrote: ‘This is so precious.’ 

More than three million people have ‘liked’ the 30-second clip with a further 12,000 leaving comments.

Some viewers remarked that the reflection in the window makes it look like Juba is holding the baby in his arms. 

TJ Gerritsen wrote: ‘He looks like the grumpy dad-figure that didn’t want a puppy but is about to be besties with it.’

Keira Hawke suggested: ‘People don’t realise that animals have a bond with their zookeepers.’

Another considered Juba’s response. He ‘turned around like a proud grandpa’, the correspondent wrote. 

Meanwhile, another social media user concluded: ‘That’s the sweetest thing ever.’
