Deanna Salvemini says she enjoyed ‘getting to know’ new Bachelor Locklan ‘Locky’ Gilbert

Locklan ‘Locky’ Gilbert was recently announced as the new Bachelor for the 2020 season of the popular Channel Ten dating show.

And on Wednesday, Deanna Salvemini, who appeared on Nick ‘Honey Badger’ Cummins’ season, revealed she recently got to know the star.

‘I did enjoy my time getting to know him and I’m sure if he was here I would have seen him again,’ the 30-year-old Adelaide-based reality star told PerthNow.

She went on to tell the publication: ‘I’m jealous he wasn’t my Bachelor… I definitely would have made more of an effort if I saw him standing at the end’.

According to reports, the pair were spotted ‘getting affectionate’ on a date last month at The Moseley Bar & Kitchen in Glenelg, Adelaide. 

Although Locky’s now single, while filming Australian Survivor: All Stars, he was also linked to fellow contestant, Brooke Jowett, 27.

The Melbourne-based personal trainer, however, had concerns that the connection between the pair may have been just part of Locky ‘playing the game’. 

‘I’d think, “Does he like me? Or is he just using me [in the game]?”,’ Brooke told Now To Love on Monday. 

While on the show, the pair were inseparable, and their castmates even joked they were husband and wife. 

Before that, Locky was in a committed relationship with longtime girlfriend, Jordan Cayless, who appeared on Love Island last year. 

The exes appear to have split in early 2019, before Jordan debuted on the racy dating show.

When Locky first appeared on Australian Survivor in 2017, he admitted that Jordan was worried he would cheat on her. 

‘Girls are ruthless, they will straight up send nudes,’ he said on KIIS FM‘s The Kyle and Jackie O Show at the time. ‘She’s a little worried about me.’ 

As for finding Ms Right on the forthcoming season of The Bachelor, Locky says he’s looking for someone engaging who can keep his attention.
