Domino’s Australia makes a VEGEMITE pizza topped with oozing mozzarella cheese

Domino’s Australia has created a Vegemite pizza oozing with mozzarella cheese.

The pizza chain offered diners a glimpse behind the scenes of its kitchen where an employee was filmed spreading the classic breakfast spread on dough before topping the base with cheese.

The fast food giant teased its fans with the never-before-seen menu item on social media, saying: ‘We made a Vegemite pizza and spoiler alert, it was really good.’

However, the pizza is yet to appear on menus across the country, with Domino’s cheekily asking Vegemite on Instagram: ‘When’s this dream collab happening?’ 

Keeping its fans on their toes, Vegemite responded: ‘Ready when you are Domino’s.’

Nearly 10,000 diners are obsessing over the potential collaboration, with dozens calling on the two brands to team up so they could get their hands on the creation.

‘Please make this happen,’ one man wrote, while another added: ‘This should be on the menu. Vegemite and cheese is an awesome combination.’

And a third said: ‘I reckon it would be a hit. A lot of people do like cheese and Vegemite toasts and Vegemite Shapes… it’s a real Aussie thing so why not have a cheese and Vegemite pizza – yum I say. Let’s make this a thing! I say go for it!’ 

Domino’s responded to one fan, saying: ‘Keep an eye out on our page… We might just make the dream collab come true.’

Meanwhile, many said the flavour combination has been around for decades.

‘Been doing cheese and Vegemite pizza for years. I buy the jar for the local pizza shop and I special order it. Fantastic,’ one wrote.

And a second said: ‘It’s been a thing since the 90s at least! An old Italian restaurant in Brisbane used to have it on their kids menu! Was great.’
