English champion Georgia Stanway’s brother today shushed Australian football fans following the Lioness’s victory in the Women’s World Cup semi-finals.

The Lioness’s brother posted a video on Instagram showing himself taunting rival crowds at Sydney’s Stadium Australia following England’s 3-1 victory.

The clip shows John Stanway cheering the Lioness’s win with the words: ‘Done the Aussies in their back yard!’ over the top of it.

The gloating celebration follows weeks of taunts from Australia fans which included an attempt by Matilda supporters to buy up tickets in England’s section of the crowd.

England’s Lionesses also received a hostile welcome in the semi-final match as Australia fans booed the England team as they walked onto the pitch.

Georgia Stanway’s brother later posted a picture of himself with the Lioness champion on Instagram, as the England team also posted a picture from their changing room.

His antagonistic celebrations come after Australia fans surreptitiously managed to buy tickets in England’s section of the stadium using a code meant for Lioness supporters – and bragged they would be wearing ‘Matilda shirts’.

The fiasco saw Austrlian fans use a unique code meant for England fans after it was leaked on social media.

A post on the Football Association’s website said the access code ‘Lioness’ was exclusively for England fans.

But several Australian supporters managed to buy tickets in their opponents’ section of the stadium and bragged they would be ‘wearing Matildas’ shirts.
