Driverless boat spins out of control on Rottnest Island in WA

Amusing moment a driverless boat loses control without its owner and revs around in circles off the coast of Australia – and nobody can seem to catch it

  • A dad’s driverless boat worried his daughter as it flailed around uncontrollably
  • The small boat spun out off the glamorous Rottnest Island in Western Australia
  • Passersby seemed unstressed by the crazy boat craft as spun all around

A runaway boat has left another boat passenger concerned as it flailed around in the water without a driver.

The small white boat spun out, seemingly of its own volition, in the waters off Rottnest Island in Western Australia on January 4.

It made a circle of white water as it wobbled around in a circle while a man in another boat watched on casually.

‘S*** dad that’s coming near,’ a worried daughter remarked as the boat spun out of control.

The boat seemed to have a mind of its own, as it rocked and rolled in the crystal clear waters off the glamorous island.

While the person videoing the crazy craft sounded stressed out, two people in separate water vehicles and a paddleboarder watched on calmly.

Rottnest Island, called ‘Perth’s playground’, is famous for quokka selfies, sandy beaches and crystal waters.

Tourists flock to Rottnest Island to snap a selfie with a smiling quokka, the only mammal native to the island.

There are around 10,000-12,000 quokkas living at Rottnest and they have been a major driving force to tourism, due to their ‘cute’ appearance.
