An elderly woman has claimed that she lost her $260,000 Tampa Bay home after her neighbor convinced her to sign a blank piece of paper – that he then used to take ownership of her land.

Susan Eatman, 80, of Thonotosassa, said Mark Oliver approached her in April with a ‘high pressure sales tactic’ and a blank piece of paper, which he begged her to sign.

Oliver operates a farm next to the 3.5 acre family property in Hillsborough County – and soon after the pestering, Eatman’s home changed ownership.

Now the family are desperately trying to get the home back into their possession.

Eatman told WFLA: ‘We were at a birthday dinner. He was very aggressive. He continues to say just sign the paper and I’m saying “I’m not signing anything, I don’t even know you”.

She conceded: ‘I did sign it. A blank piece of paper.’

The woman said she hadn’t even seen Oliver before the encounter.

She soon realized she was in trouble. She added: ‘I’ve done something stupid.’

Eatman believes that her neighbor used her signature and placed it on a quitclaim deed that removed her name from the real estate holding.

She told Fox News: ‘There was a detective that investigated and talked to everybody and said that it was fraudulent. We’ll do whatever we have to do to get it back.

‘My parents paid for that property, and they wanted it to be Jackie’s.’

Eatman’s sister, Jaquelyn ‘Jackie’ White, lives in the home on the contested property and is named in the lawsuit.

According to Oliver, she was compensated with $40,000, an air conditioning unit, and healthcare payments.

Oliver said Jackie had given him permission to put ‘his animals on her property.’

According to the Sheriff’s report, White was also made to sign a ‘blank’ paper.

The issue is now with the state attorney, who is yet to file any charges.

Bryant Camareno, Oliver’s criminal attorney, told 8 On Your Side: ‘My client has not been charged with a crime. And he has not been found guilty of a crime.’

Oliver claimed ‘the deed is not fraudulent and was not signed under fraudulent terms.
