Ella Scott Lynch wows as Nicola Gobbo in Channel Nine’s Underbelly spin-off Informer 3838 – as Gyton Grantley returns to play Carl Williams
Channel Nine will air a new Underbelly spin-off based on criminal barrister-turned police informer Nicola Gobbo called Informer 3838 this year.
The crime drama follows Gobbo, played by actress Ella Scott Lynch, and her involvement in the Melbourne gangland killings.
Informer 3838 will also see the return of actor Gyton Grantley as convicted murderer and drug trafficker Carl Williams.

Grantley memorably won the 2009 Logie Award for Most Outstanding Actor in a Series for his portrayal of Williams in the first season of Underbelly.
He went on to reprise the iconic role in 2014 in the Underbelly spin-off Fat Tony & Co.
Outside of Underbelly, Grantley appeared in The Dressmaker with Kate Winslet and played Kane Albert in the Channel Nine drama House Husbands.
Ella Scott Lynch, who is playing the titular character in Informer 3838, has an impressive career in her own right.

The 37-year-old memorably starred as Claire Anderson on All Saints from 2008-2009.
She went on to star in Underbelly: Badness in 2012 and memorably played Shirley Ryan in Love Child from 2014-2016.
Nine appears to be throwing their full support behind the series, airing an explosive trailer during the Married At First Sight premiere on Monday.
While no official air date for Informer 3838 has been revealed yet, Nine promises that it’s ‘coming soon’.
