Father is left ‘fuming’ after noticing his six-month-old daughter’s teething toy looked like something VERY rude instead

  • Father from Kent claims butterfly in the Playgro teething pack resembles a penis
  • Dean said he feels that the toy was made to look this way intentionally as a ‘joke’

A new father was left ‘fuming’ after realising his six-month-old daughter’s teething toy looked like a penis.

Dean Flight, 31, from Kent, told how baby Harleigh was chewing on the butterfly toy when he noticed it resembled something rather rude while it was upside down.

Speaking to Metro, Dean explained he and his partner took the toy off Harleigh when they realised.

‘She was playing with it when we first gave it to her. As I turned around to see her she had it upside down,’ he told the publication.

‘Both her hands had folded the wings round like I showed in the photo and she was sucking on the smaller end. I was fuming.’

The butterfly toy is part of a Playgro teether pack, which Dean said was given to his daughter as a present.

The set also features a larger butterfly, which he claims looks completely innocent from any angle, as well as some smaller plastic hard ones.

But when the smaller butterfly is held upside down like how Harleigh was clutching it, Dean said it looks ‘quite rude’.

He claimed it felt like the toy company who produced the item, Playgro, made it that way intentionally as a ‘joke’.

The new dad added that if the toy was all one colour without being divided into sections by black and white strips, it may have looked less phallic.

‘It’s the fact it’s in three separate sections, it’s almost like it’s the balls, shaft and the end,’ he said. ‘It feels like it was an entire joke.’

It’s not the first time a children’s toy has raised eyebrows due to its dubious design.
