Located on the River Yonne, just outside of Auxerre, La Côte Saint-Jacques is run by Jean-Michel Lorian.

The restaurant was awarded its first Michelin star in 1971 and earned a second in 1976.

Guests on the cruise will enjoy lunch here, where dishes include rosette of lobster and fresh palm nut salad; egg parfait with white alba truffles and puy green lentils and venison with beetroot.

The dining area is best known for honouring its Burgundian heritage with its exposed stone decor and wooden beams.

The restaurant’s executive chef is Eric Pras and his dishes include Burgundy snail tart, fizzy pickled garlic and nettle coulis.

Boasting one Michelin star, Le Jardin des Ramparts is located in Beaune in the heart of the Côte d’Or.

The chef is Christophe Bocquillon, who describes himself as a ‘true food lover’ who likes to serve ‘truth on a plate’.

One main course on the menu includes seared deer, Canadian mezoide butternut and macaroni and hokkaidon squash.

Located in the centre of Tornus, Aux Terrasses has held a Michelin star since 1999.

It is run by executive chef Jean-Michel Carette, who took over in the kitchen from his father in 2005.

The restaurant says that it offers more than a dining experience and also takes guests on a ‘genuine sensory journey with a surprising and instant impact.’

Restaurant Georges Blanc is a three Michelin-starred restaurant in the small village of Vonnas.

The restaurant has been in Georges’ family since it opened in 1872 and he has held three Michelin stars since 1981.

His best-known dishes are Bresse chicken – chicken cooked with cream and Chardonnay- and Vonnas pancakes that are made from potato.

Restaurant Paul Bocuse, also known as Auberge du Pont de Collonges, is located near Lyon.

It is the flagship restaurant of renowned chef Paul Bocuse, who was nicknamed the ‘pope’ of French cuisine. He died in 2018 aged 91.

A highlight of the menu is black truffle soup, which Bocuse created for French President Valery Giscard d’Estaing in 1975.

There was controversy last month when it was revealed that the restaurant was being stripped of one of its Michelin stars. It had held three stars since 1965 but now has two.
