Gemma Collins has revealed the secret to her confident persona is smelling good, and insisted her scent is so iconic that ‘people smell me before they see me.’ 

The British reality star, 38, from Romford, said she transforms into ‘the GC’ when she sprays herself with a stunning fragrance every morning. 

The revelation comes as she launches a new ‘Diva Pink’ perfume, which she hopes will empower her fans and help them capture a little of her ultra-confident attitude.

She also suggested she doesn’t allow online critics to get her down and revealed her policy for tackling trolls, saying: ‘I just don’t look it and to be honest, I love my life so it doesn’t bother me.’

And she said her fragrance launch is ‘just the beginning’ of her grand plans, saying: ‘The GC empire is growing and growing and 2020 will be even bigger.

Her plans for next year include helping her fans live their best lives.  

She said: ‘I want to help women and men be their most fabulous self. 

‘I have done this with my clothing and beauty and fragrance is the next step for me.’

Speaking to FEMAIL about developing the perfume, Gemma revealed she worked tirelessly on the perfume, which has strong saffron and rose tones, working through 10 different versions of the fragrance before landing on her final perfume.

She explained: ‘I wondered if it was possible to create a more affordable oud perfumes but keep the quality.’

Gemma said she wanted to create a ‘luxury diva moment’ for everyone to enjoy, regardless of price.

But she insisted that Diva Pink, which costs £20, is ‘anything but cheap’, and promises it’s ‘as good as fragrances I’ve paid £250 for.’ 

Revealing the secret behind the affordable price, she said: ‘We managed to bring the high quality by skipping the middle man and saving on the big marketing budgets you get on other fragrances.’

She went on to suggest the perfume was ‘a little bit of bottled GC magic’, saying: ‘I’m often asked about my confidence, and smelling good is a big part of my confidence. 

‘Every morning the ritual of spraying my Diva Pink helps transforms me in to the GC.’

The ultra-confident reality star is often praised for her care-free attitude, and said that she works hard not to let trolls get her down. 

She revealed she tries her best to avoid looking at trolling online, but added something needs to be done to tackle the problem.

She said: ‘I do think trolling is really bad and not everyone can cope with the trolling the way I do, so something needs to be done about it.’ 

Gemma rose to fame on The Only Way is Essex before taking part in I’m a Celebrity, Celebrity Big Brother and Dancing On Ice.

This year, she starred in her own ‘fly on the wall’ TV show called ‘Diva Forever’, which followed Gemma as she made her mark in LA, London, Marbella and Essex.

She has also launched her own clothing line, the Gemma Collins Collection in May of this year.

Throughout her brushes with reality television, she’s continued to maintain her Essex based boutique, aptly called the Gemma Collins boutique.
