Haircare giant ghd has unveiled a new cordless styling tool that claims to leave locks ’65 percent shinier’ than traditional devices.
The $475 ‘Unplugged’, which will launch in Australia on Friday, July 2, in salons, beauty stores and online from the ghd website, is the brand’s first-ever wire-free styler.
Lightweight and small enough to slip inside a handbag, the tool heats up in just 45 seconds and offers 20 minutes of continuous styling time in which you can curl, straighten or beach-wave hair.
Ideal for travelling, the gadget can be charged at home or on the go with a USB-C charging cable, meaning you’ll never be stuck for a touch up again.

Hybrid co-lithium technology brings the plates to 185 degrees Celsius – the optimum temperature for heated styling.
Italian influencer turned businesswoman Chiara Ferragni has been announced as the face of the new product, which she says helps her to maintain flawless hair while acting as CEO of two global businesses, a mother-of-two and a wife.
Managing director of ghd Australia and New Zealand, Ludovic Dellazzeri, said the Unplugged was carefully created to be the best cordless styler on the market.

He said ghd researchers combined the latest battery and heat styling technology to create a portable styler that delivers all the benefits of iconic ghd tools.
The Unplugged will be available to buy from the ghd website from Friday, July 2.
